ASP

Application Service Provider. Specialists who provide custom solutions, such as e-mailing, to companies that do not wish to build their own system.

DNS

Domain Name System. Automated system used to translate computer (machine) names into the equovalent IP addresses.

ISP

Junk E-mail

Bulk, unsolicited e-mail, usually of a commerical nature.

MAPS

Mail-Abuse Prevention System. An anti-spam organization.

RBL

Real-time Blackhole List, maintained by MAPS with the purpose of blocking out spammers.

Spam

UCE or other unsolicitated e-mails.

Spammer

An individual or organization that sends out spam.

UCE

Unsolicited Commercial E-mail.
