Winter 2001 Assignment 2

Summary

The majority of internet users hate receiving spam and they expect their ISPs to stop the problem. Excessive spam can also cause users to switch ISPs, causing them to lose revenues.

Spammers themselves have very little incentive to stop as sending out UCEs require little effort and sometimes actually attract a customer. Spammers themselves have very little incentive to stop as sending out UCEs require little effort and sometimes actually attract a customer.

Bottom line, spam costs money by wasting time and network resources.
