USTAZ MD YUSOF DIMIN'S FAREWELL CEREMONY Since he would be retiring rather than transferring to another school, the school decided to honour him with a grand sent-off. The preparation took one week with everybody chipping in to do their part to ensure a successful farewell event. On his last day as a principal, Ustaz Md Yusof was presented with a "tengkolok" - the Malay headgear - befitting his status as the leader of the school. After that, Ustaz Md Yusof visited the examination classes to say good-bye and to give his final advice to the students. Other classes were already in the great hall. Next, he was taken to the great hall where he was given a standing ovation. Speeches and performances took place. Once the performances were over, each class, club, uniform body, teacher, and support staff took turns in giving their farewell gifts to the principal. Then, it was his turn to give his last speech to the school. Ustaz Md Yusof ended his speech with a captivating recitation of the poem "Selamat Tinggal Anak-Anakku" or Good-bye My Children which he had penned himself. After that, a photography session took place. Finally, he was escorted by the whole school to the main gate and was driven back to his temporary house in Piasau. To Ustaz Md Yusof Dimin: "Thank you for treating me - your subordinate - with such respect, courtesy, and kindness.. Thank you for making me feel as if I was the kindest person in the whole world. I learn many great things from you, sir. Things which you never said - but which you showed by merely being you. May Allah bless you." :: Yours Truly ![]() |
