Colourful Hilltribe Villages dot the forested mountains of our local district, Pang Mapa. From CAVE LODGE you can easily visit the Lisu, Lahu, Karen and Shan people. Regular one and multi day trips with licensed guides are available from the Lodge. For those with a sense of adventure we can supply maps (see HOME), advice and a packed lunch so you can explore these friendly villages by yourself. It's fun to team up with some of our other guests, trek to the nearby Karen or Lahu village and meet the fascinating tribal people. You can also hire an elephant for less than $5/hour or go bamboo rafting.
The scenery in our region is the most spectacular in Nth Thailand, with white and red limestone peaks rising above forested mountains and deep valleys. The villagers still live their traditional lifestyles and retain the distinct cultures of their tribe.
