Adventures in Arcadayn
Priests of the Quadralunic Cults.
Prerequisites for all clerics: Appreciate Beauty, Merchant, Performance/Ritual, Theology (with specialization), Teaching, any one artistic or craft skill.
Patron cost is base 20 (Krith and Visala) or 10 (elsewhere). Patron and Duty frequency and Power Investiture level are linked to Rank:
Rank | Title | P.I. | Patron | Duty* |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 [5] | Teacher | 1 [10] | 9- [20/10] | 12- [-5] |
2 [10] | Master | 2 [20] | 9- [20/10] | 15- [-10] |
3 [15] | Magister | 2 [20] | 12- [40/20] | 15- [-10] |
* Duty is normally nonhazardous; add -5 if it is.
This religion has one Holy Week (6 days) [6]: Guildfest (1-6 Harvestmonth), when arts and crafts guilds hold competitions.
Spheres of influence: In addition to the appropriate divine magics in GURPS Religion, all Quadralunic Clerics gain access to the "introductory" spells--those which have no PRs beyond Magery and IQ--of all colleges except Animal, Enchantment, Making & Breaking and Necromantic. (There are 31 such spells in GURPS Magic and 6 more in GURPS Grimoire [not counting Technology spells].)
For clerics devoted to a specific god, add the following details. Each "order" adds one or two complete colleges to the list above. Spells which normally require PRs which are outside the priesthood's list instead require skill 14+ in all PRs (f any) that do appear on the list. (Example: Lastor's priests may learn any Making & Breaking spells. Thus, Reshape requires Weaken-14 and Dye requires Restore-14.) Because all four gods are allied powers, spells allowed to specialists may be learned by generalists or other specialists, but may only be cast in full ceremonial form (see pp. R014, M14).
All Quadralunic priests have access to the Consecrate, Excomunicate, Final Rest, and Oath spells from pp. R109-112. (Desecrate and Summon Allied Entity are not known.) Many clerics learn Consecrate soon asfter their investiture, in order to create a Sacred Vessel (pp. R105-106).
Kobor: Kobor has no separate priesthood. However, he sometimes bestows divine favor on a trickster, thief or fool who catches his attention. This blessing takes one of the following forms: Blessed (Heroic Feats: DX) [10], Daredevil [15], Luck [15/30] or Serendipity [15].
Lastor: Add to PRs: one craft skill at 15+. Add Making & Breaking to spheres of influence.
Palogira: Add to PRs: Bard, Diplomacy. If the culture's ruling class has a high literacy rate, Palogira's clerics must be Literate. These priests must swear a Vow of Honesty [-10] and a Vow to carry no obvious weapons when acting as messengers [-10]. Add Communication & Empathy to spheres of influence.
Clerics of Palogira also gain a Claim to Hospitality at allied Quadralunic temples. This claim normally extends only to temples within the same culture/nation as the priest. (However, temples elsewhere will tend to be well-disposed to Palogira's messengers unless the cult in that region is decidely insular.) This advantage is worth 6-8 points in most of Krith or Visala, or 4-5 in areas where the cult is less influential or organized.
Pranira: Add to PRs: one artistic skill at 15+. Pranira's clerics must swear a Vow to fight censorship at all times. This can be treated as Fanaticism (arts and freedom from censorship) [-15] except that it does not give a +1 to clerical spell skills as Fanaticism normally does. Add choice of Illusion & Creation or Sound to spheres of influence; the other college is treated as spells of an "allied power".
