Adventures in Arcadayn
Junrazzak (Iron Dwarf Kingdom)
By Tim Emrick

Ruler: Junraz (King) Zingundur.

Capital: Dumrazzak.

Symbol/Arms: A gold crown supported by a gold battleaxe and a red shield.

Culture Level: Civilized.

Currency: Bronze Shield (Burlan, $.10), silver Battleaxe (Zakmut, $1), gold Crown (Burnalkur, $100).

Divisions: (Several Gaaz [clans].)

Government Type: Monarchy (autocracy).

Languages: Razzak (iron dwarves, M/A), Sivian (humans, M/A), Northlander (M/A, several dialects).

Population: Approximately 75,000 (?) iron dwarves.

Racial Stock: All Junrazzak dwarves are iron dwarves.

Geography: The iron dwarves dwell in the central Thunderhead Peaks. The center of the kingdom (the city of Dumrazzak) is somewhere on the upper Iron River, but outsiders are rarely allowed to approach closer than several days' journey. All trade with humans is conducted well outside the dwarf-claimed lands, at the borders of Riversmidst, the upland Northlander holds, and the Tempest Bay holds. The dwarves usually avoid the men of the Bogmoors.

More iron dwarves live in the south central Whitecrags (northwest of Riversmidst), but these Gaaz are independent of Junrazzak.

Climate: The Thunderhead Peaks are warm and rainy, except in the higher mountains, which are cooler and prone to snow. Storms here are spectacular, hence the range's name.

Agriculture & Resources: Crops: [TBD]. Animals: Dall sheep, goats, wolves. Resources: firerock, gems (blue quartz, moss agate, chrysoprase, garnet, spinel, opal), gold, iron, potash, silver, sulfur.

Religions: The dwarves revere Kemira Earth-Mother above all other gods (Elemental cults). A rare few worrship other gods, such as Uralor (Elemental cults) or Lastor (Quadralunic cults).

Military: Junrazzak units are always Medium or Heavy Infantry [MI, HI], of Seasoned or better quality, and well organized [cf. Modern and Classical Greek organization]. Miners are MI or HI in open battle. If their hoems are attacked, all adults fight in the defense.

Nonhumans: Citizens are iron dwarves. Some giants and Unseelie sidhe live on the borders of the dwarves' domains.

Other Special Groups:

History: See "Dwarves & Gnomes" and "Timeline of Arcadayn History". To calculate Dwarven Year (DY) dates, add 520 to the current Krithian Calendar year.

Names: See Dragon #__ about dwarvish names.
