Random News And Reviews: Well folks I unfortunately have a CD review of the week this week mainly cuz nothing really has come in lately.  That and I think I am going to pass out soon from this damn cough I have had all fucking week!  Down with sickness dammit...anyhow on with the randow shiaaaat.  The first week of shows has gone off rather well at WSKB.  My first one went well aside from sounding like Wolfman Jack with a small furry animal in his throat.  Check out the playlist section for weekly updates on my show.  So far people have been checking out a fine mix of CDs off the
WSKB racks.  I will try to get a section dedicated to our top ten loud songs as well.  Well onto what CDs I had a chance to check out.  The 3000 Miles To Graceland Sound- track is sounding pretty interesting.  Its almost humerous how soundtracks nowadays have to keep a variety!  Back in my day (here comes the old man rant) most soundtracks either went one way or another...rock, dance, etc.  However with a soundtrack like this one, offer more than just one track to skip over if you don't like certain genres.  If you like variety though, soundtracks like this one may totally give you wood or get you wet.  On the rock side of things, 3000 Miles is impressive as it gets with tracks from Hed PE, Filter, Nothingface, and Spineshank to name a few.  However it doesn't really hold anything new from these bands though.  Most were tracks taken off of the band's current CD.  As for everything else, you can expect tracks from electronica gurus The Crystal Method, George Clinton, and even the king...Elvis!  For what its worth its definatly playable but once again, you may be skipping from track to track.                                   Somehow I forgot about the Obituary anthology from Roadrunner Records.  (Bad Mark)  I found it under a pile of other stuff I had to review.  Most of the band's best tunes are on there (at least some of my favorites are) with a few unreleased tracks as well.  So if you like the band who helped bring the death metal movement to fans everywhere, then this is the thrashin' disc for you!
I guess CMJ's pick for best loud CD last year,
In Flames Clayman, has made several bands think about what they should do with their sound.  For instance, I received CD from Children Of Bodom and Soilwork the other day.  Both have that style that Jesper and the boys brought out last year.  Its very much like black metal but the vocals mix between screams and low grumbles.  The main difference is you can actually make out a sentance or two.  Who knows, maybe these bands had that style before Clayman but either way thats what it sounds like.
Well thats its for me this week.  Sorry about the short length of this but hopefully next week we will have more CDs to review and spend less time on coughing.
