STATUS: Heel. Former World Champion. Feuding with Riot.
WRESTLING: Danger seems pretty darn good. She is big and athletic. Her demolition of Terri Gold in their first, impromptu title bout was quite convincing. And of course, she puts people through tables. Sometimes, when the people go through tables, they lie there and/or get medical assistance (Jane Blond). Sometimes, they mysteriously disappear, and the table reappears (Riot)! How does that work?...Danger's matches tend to be short. I don't know why that is. Maybe she can only do a few things well. Her finisher is the Rockbottom, a.k.a. the "Danger Drop", often accompanied by said table.
CHARACTER: Danger's supposed gimmick is "master of weapons", but they only allude to that once in a while and it's for the best. Basically, she is just a badass, but she makes it work because she looks the part and because she acts like a real tough person acts, i.e. not making a huge obvious show of her toughness. She even makes a corny line like "You're on the highway to hell!" into a decent catchphrase. She sticks out her tongue a lot, it's cool. Hmm, in between quoting AC/DC and sticking her tongue out like Gene Simmons, it's almost like she's appropriated her rival Riot's abandoned "heavy metal maniac" gimmick. Danger's presumably fake tattoo looks better than the other presumably fake tattoos in WOW.
LOOKS: When she's not wearing this goofy headband, I think Danger actually does not look that bad. She has a nice build, and with her hair down, her face looks much better. Maybe I'm nuts, I dunno.
COMMENTS: My only gripe with Danger is that she doesn't wrestle all that much for someone who is being pushed as one of WOW's biggest attractions. The title match was only her third match total. I suspect that she has outside commitments; I understand that she is a stuntwoman (very easy to believe). That's fine, but if she's gonna be a front-liner, you need to explain when she disappears, and eventually, "she's always suspended" is gonna get old. If she can make a week-in and week-out commitment to WOW, she will be one of its biggest assets for sure.
UPDATES:
2/4/2000 (PPV):
- Danger lost the title to Terri Gold after being tabled by Riot. This is a
believable feud between WOW's two best badasses...good to keep it going, I think
(and not to give the belt to either one.)
