On Monday, our doctor (Dr. Harrison) came in and saw Christine first thing in the morning. He concurred that he'd like to keep Siphiwe on the inside for a couple of days, but just as those words tripped out his mouth, a nurse came in with a lab report showing that Christine's white blood cell count had risen a bit, indicating that (despite the antibiotics) she had a slight infection in her uterus. So, Dr. Harrison stopped the IV and within an hour, Christine's contractions were coming fast and furious.
Four hours on (at about 11:30am), Christine decided that she'd had enough of "natural" childbirth and called for the epidural. After putting the epidural in, the doc checked Christine out, announced that she'd dilated to 8.5 cm and would deliver by 2:00pm. Everything sounded great!!!
