Greeting and peace with the mighty name of our Lord Jesus.
I have visited your site upon recommendation of one of the poster of Eh
Pinoy. Nice site for expressing the truth. I noticed on the list of Cults,
other have profile and others have none. Are you going to complete the
missing profile. On local group which are not mentioned in your site, how
do you find them, i.e. El
Shaddai, Day by Day,
Shalom and Cathedral of
Praise and others.
Our church here in J----h is a full gospel church and as I have read your
teaching in your website, we have similar teaching.
Again, I praise God for your deeds in expressing the truth. Kaya lang
parang wala yata kayong guest book so that I can log in.
God Bless to All..

Answer
El Shaddai (Heb. God Almighty) - formed by Mike Velarde, a loyal Roman Catholic who mixed his belief with the "health and wealth" gospel. He teaches salvation by grace through faith just like the rest of the evangelical born again people but this doctrine seems to be compromise for he does not openly exposes the error of Romanisms salvation by works. Although we cannot deny the fact that some in Velarde's group may be genuinely saved but we still have to judge a number of his teachings as aberrant which opposes the clear teachings of the Scripture.
Shalom (Heb. Peace) - formed by a charismatic Bible toting priest named Archie Guiriba. We can almost say that this person teaches a gospel that is in accord with what the apostle proclaimed , that is, salvation in Jesus Christ alone. But we have yet to see this man question his Roman Catholic beliefs and so accept the authority of the Scripture rather than the See of Vatican.
Note: According to one former Roman Catholic priest turned Christian, "Catholic Charismatics are stepping stones for hard core Roman Catholic people to get out of their institution and later become born-again."
Cathedral of Praise - A Christian movement in the Philippines headed by David Sumrall (son of Lester Sumrall) which embraces many of the doctrines of the word faith movement. This group is not a cult, they differ only with many other Christian churches in terms of minor teachings.
Day by Day Christan Ministries - organized by Ed Lapiz. Nothing wrong with his teachings that may contradict orthodox
Christianity. See our reply in another
question on Day by Day Ministries
