The Harbor Freight Challenge

The objective of the Harbor Freight Challenge is to make an Old Timer Free Flight Replica that is powered by the power system from one of the Harbor Freight electric powered foamy freeflight airplanes.

These little airplanes use an unknown motor and a Chinese 280mah 2/3AAA NiMh battery. The Harbor Freight package contains a charger that uses a pair of AA pencells to charge the battery in these airplanes.

The HF Tractor has a 13.5 inch wingspan with a 32 square inch wing area. This airplane weighs 1.4 ounces. The wheels on this airplane may be useable.

The HF Pusher weighs 1.9oz

The HF power system weighs 1 ounce. If you use the power system from the pusher you will need to reverse the motor connections to make the propellor turn in the correct direction.

One option is to use one of the Old Time FreeFlight Micro Replicas sold by Al Lidberg.
