MONSOON
WEDDING
(Mira Nair, 2001, India)
Monsoon Wedding is a
celebration of life filled with colors, music and
entertainment. |

MY
BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING
(Joel Zwick, 2002, USA) |
 |
A
sitcom that it's an hour and a half long.
The problem is that there are better sitcoms
with funnier jokes than this… and for free. |

NINE
QUEENS
(Fabian Bielinski, 2000, Argentina)
This is what a con movie should
be. And not aberrations like The Score. |

ONE
HOUR PHOTO
(Mark Romanek, 2002, USA) |
 |
The
good thing about Mark Romanek's debut is the
way the villain is treated. This is a completely
different villain: you care about him, you
feel sorry for him, you understand him. One
Hour photo is not your typical thriller,
because, actually, if you think about it,
it's not a thriller. And it doesn't have your
typical villain, because, actually, is there
a villain in this movie? |

THE
PIANIST
(Roman Polanski, 2002, France)
It's just another movie about
the Holocaust but it's a very good one. |

PUNCH-DRUNK
LOVE
(Paul Thomas Anderson, 2002, USA) |
 |
This romantic movie works because it's different;
because the characters are really interesting
(even Lena who we don't anything about her
is really engaging), because it's charming,
romantic and delightful. And because it knows
about love. |

RED
DRAGON
(Brett Ratner, 2002, USA) |
 |
This movie proves that excellent casts are
not reliable anymore. Predictably boring and
completely unnecessary. |

THE

(Gore Verbinski, 2002, USA) |

     |
ROAD

(Sam Mendes, 2002, USA)
A movie too beautiful to consider
it a noir film. |

     |
THE
RULES OF ATTRACTION
(Roger Avary, 2002, USA) |
 |
I think nobody liked this movie because of
its narcissist, selfish, shallow, unlikable
characters. Yes, that's not how all teenagers
are but, believe me, some of them are. |
