In the directional map, like the one above, you can choose the direction you would like to go next in the story. Active directions are highlighted and will lead you to the next page. The directions are also provided in the text of the story. While it is not mentioned, you can always turn around and go back to the last page to choose another path to follow. If you die, the only direction provided is to start the game over. Clicking on the back button is considered cheating but who cares? Play the game however you like.
