We have a very interesting history, we spent many years as struggling
artists before we finally hit it big with our first CD. Before that
happened, let me take you back to the beginning - (this is where everything
gets wavy and you here the tingly music) We were all sitting around
a campfire at a family camp-out and discussing the different things
that people do when they have been drinking and camping. We got on
the subject of "boy bands" and how gay and stupid they are and how
they are pretty much talent-less. DJ Devil then piped up and said
"hey we should make a band" so Krakah said "OK, but what should we
call ourselves?". DJ Devil suggested the gorillas, because that's
the name of his scout patrol. We informed him that the name was already
taken and he suggested the monkeys. We informed him that name was
already taken as well, when our dad chimed in and said "yeah, you're
all a bunch of ass monkeys." The name was an instant hit and we made
Bob an official ass monkey. After discussing the band for about 5
minutes, it was clear that we were having creative differences with
him, so we had to fire ass monkey Bob. He does still hold a special
place in the hearts of the band and ass monkey fans everywhere. The
first thing we did was to create a T shirt. We began wearing the shirt
and people commented on the band name and how cool it was. Then one
weekend a few months later, after having been roofing all day at Ass
Monkey Bob's, me and Krakah were sitting around and drinking
(imagine that). After a few 12 packs, some songs were being tossed
around and it was then and there that we decided to make a CD. We
spent the next 2 weeks writing and on a rainy Sunday, May 19th, Krakah,
Wahoo the Druid and DJ Devil went to Krakah's house and recorded our
first CD. The rest will be history! So buy our CD. Our songs may be
a bit too honest for some but we say what we want and if you don't
like it, don't listen. We are Ass Monkeys after all!
