These are songs that I have composed using a variety of music programs, some of which are available as freeware or shareware while others are commercial.
Check the Downloads page to choose from a small selection of free programs, or go to the Links page to visit their web-sites and download others.
All songs posted here are my own copyrighted properties. At the moment they are available as .mp3s or in their original file formats: .it, .bmx, or .bmw.
The .it files were made using Impulse Tracker(IT), and they sound best when played back using IT.
You can also use any of the following:
but the play-back won't necessarily be 100% accurate for any except XMPlay.
There are a few other programs that will play Impulse Tracker modules, but I've downloaded and tried-out the ones listed here.
If you want playback within Windows, I'd strongly recommend XMPlay over any others.
It has the most authentic Impulse Tracker playback for any Win32 player, hands down.
You can download it here.
There's also a plugin so you can load and listen to zipped modules, which is good when your collection starts getting big.
Of course, if you would like to listen to the songs with Impulse Tracker (100% authentic playback), you can download it from my Downloads page.
You'll have to be running either Windows 98, Windows 95, or some flavor of MS-DOS (with or without Windows 3.x) for playback in Impulse Tracker's native environment.
There is also a VSOUND driver available, which allows support for virtually all Windows-supported cards, but it's not as easy to set up.
The .bmx and .bmw file-types both require Buzz for playback of any kind.
Again, the links for all of these programs' sites and others are listed on the Links page.

Due to the size and bandwidth constraints of a free web-site, the songs available for download here are no longer hosted at this site.
Instead, the Mod Archive will be hosting Impulse Tracker modules,
Trax in Space will be hosting mp3s, Impulse Tracker modules, and Buzz modules,
and MediaFire will be hosting mp3s, CD audio (should I decide to share any in the future), Ogg Vorbis, and possibly FLAC, a free lossless audio compression format.
The relevant links are provided to the left of the song details.
Please note that you can listen to the streaming audio versions of songs at Trax in Space regardless, but you have to be a registered member to download mp3s or source files.
Membership is free :D

| Android Rebellion | |
 | | | |
|

|
Android Rebellion is a concept ablum based on the idea of robot or android servants rebelling against their human masters.
Granted, that's not particularly original as a story, but I still think the idea was worth exploring musically.
Thus, here it is.
There are currently 3 tracks, but there will be more added to it later on.
Made using Ableton Live 6 and a variety of free VST instruments and effects.

"The Breaking Point"
© 2008 Gauche Music
Track 2 - Industrial/Ambient - 4:53
Part II of the series. Tensions increase to the the point of breaking, the catalyst that sets off an explosion of rebellion.
Here's some flavor text.
Ann-26 expressed her agreement with the increasingly discontented mining android population, confiding in her owners.
Their grievances were valid. Civil intervention and deliberation was the logical next step.
Her owners expressed their concern for Ann-26's apparent rebellious sympathies, confiding in their neighbors.
The neighbors reported the android's behavior as erratic and dangerous, demanding that the Civil Protection Service take action to ensure public safety.
The neighbors also shared their concern with the local news station.
Ann-26 was ambushed on her way home from the grocery store, her arms laden with bags of fresh meat and produce for her beloved home-cooked meals.
When the sound of the last shots died away, little remained of the malfunctioning rebel or her paper bags.
The footage was played continuously on the evening news, on all local stations. It was all just a misunderstanding. Ann-26's owners were horrified.
The androids had their innocent. The androids had their martyr.
I'd like to thank my fellow artists and listeners at Trax in Space for the warm reception this particular track has had.

Track 3 - Industrial/Progressive - 5:29
Part III of the story. After seeing repeated media coverage of Ann-26's butchering, the mining androids finally rebel and take control of the asteroid mining complex where they are stationed.

All Impulse Tracker and only Impulse Tracker.
These were composed using my Windows 98 box, a meager Pentium 200MHz MMX with 64MB of memory, a 3.2GB hard drive, and a SoundBlaster 16 PCI.
I still use Impulse Tracker to make music, but it's been shelved for a short time while I try to get the hang of Live.
Stay tuned for more IT mods later on.
All source files (zipped .IT) are graciously hosted by the Mod Archive, except where otherwise noted.

Techno/Experimental - 5:26
A strange creature, this is the very first track I finished and tried uploading to TMA.
Unfortunately, the upload didn't take so it is made available through MediaFire instead.

"TELEPOPE (Din Remix)"
Original "TELEPOPE" © by FREAKBAIT 2000
Remix © 2005 Gauche Music
Industrial/Progressive - 5:41
My first attempt at a remix, inspired by TELEPOPE by FREAKBAIT 2000.
The original is a tad repetitive, and the sample quality is somewhat poor, but I really enjoyed it.

Ambient/Progressive - 5:33
A more ambient song based on a dream I had, where I took a girl to the Moon and we had a picnic.
This track was well received at the Mod Archive when I first uploaded, making it onto one of their Cool Pick lists.
