2008: Best. Summer. Ever. Summer 2008 gave me the most memorable and life-changing experience, and it's not because of pool parties! Summer meant internship, and internship meant working as a contributor for and getting published in the country's leading news website Inquirer.net.
For three weeks excluding weekends, I and the rest of the interns did the rounds of the major news beats of the country and were required to submit at least one story per day while on the beat. Mine went as follows: Police, Congress, Senate, Justice, Malacañang and Defense. I was also assigned to the editorial desk where I became one of the editorial assistants for three days (hey, I had one tagline while I was an EA).
