"What is journalism? It is a craft. Does it entail creativity? YES!"

Whoever said that journalism is easy may not have been in revered columnist Luis V. Teodoro's class, whose words I have quoted above. To gather the facts through interviews and research is relatively easy, but to get those facts across and interpreted in a way the ordinary reader would understand---ah, there's the rub.

Since shifting to the College of Mass Communication, I have lost count of the many articles I have written for my journalism classes. A handful may suck, a handful may not, but I believe they all helped me hone my skills for the craft.

The biggest test so far of all the things I learned in the College was my internship with Inquirer.net. As an intern/reporter/contributor, I was asked to turn in at least one story daily before 5 p.m. If a story is big, you have to turn it in an hour after the news breaks out. If you wrote it well, you'll earn a tagline. If you wrote it very well, you'll earn a byline. Easy, right? NOT. But it was worth it.

All in all, I consider myself a work in progress as a budding media practitioner. And if you're still reading up to this point, I suggest you take a peek at my sample articles by clicking on the images above. Image 1 ("Class Outputs") contains links to articles I did for classes. Image 2 ("Intern Outputs") contains the lead and the links to all my articles posted on the news website.
