Our friend and CMGC member Bob Harris passed away unexpectedly in June. Bob was an artist in more ways than one. His win in the 2000 Summer Heat with a gross 79 held the CMGC record for many years. He once told me to watch for a young Ohio State quarterback named Troy Smith. "I think he's gonna be great" said Bob. Right you were Bob; among the greatest. The CMGC officially renamed the Summer Heat the Bob Harris Memorial to honor our friend.

For an event originally called the Summer Heat, we had enough cool weather to refer to the event as the Summer Breeze. Bob began a tradition of really low scores in the July tournament. Richard Jenks won the 2003 event with a net 63, John Kempton with a net 65 in 2004, and Jeff McCorkle nearly shot even par at Golf Club of Dublin in 2005. So it was fitting that the weather was perfect on the summer Saturday morning; some suggested that Bob was smiling down on us.

Richard Jenks won the inagural Bob Harris Memorial with a burning net 67. Steve beat his own record of posting the lowest losing gross score of 78. Congratulations guys. Here's how it ended up.
1. Richard Jenks, 67
2. Jeff McCorkle, 69
3. Steve Hawley, 70
4. Scott Kern, 70
5. Vince Resor, 74
