Simba is a 3 year old retired greyhound racer from Kansas City. He has been in his adopted home for a little over one year and just recently was certified as a Pet Partner through the Delta Society with his owner, Lori Fletcher. Simba is very outgoing and loves people and the attention they give him. Because of his large size and unusual brindle coloring, he is quickly becoming a favorite at the facilities he visits. His long legs provide the perfect height to stand along side beds and wheelchairs, allowing easy access to petting. He is the only male dog in a house full of female dogs but seems to have adjusted. Simba loves to play with toys, especially his stuffed animals, keeping him entertained so that he leaves the house cats alone. Simba stays active jogging with his owner along with Lori's greyhound Ellie, and Shepherd-cross, Sara. Simba and Ellie are both active representing Greyhound Rescue of Idaho at Pets Mart in Twin Falls on a monthly basis. With the addition of Simba, Lori now has 4 animals certified through the Delta Society as Pet Partners (Ellie, Lexy, WalMart, and Simba). Each of these animals love to visit the facilities and hope they are the one chosen when it is time to go on a visit. Since only one animal at a time may be handled, the ones left behind are disappointed and hope they get to go next time. Lori tries to make sure each animal gets to visit at least once each month. Since everyone seems to have their favorites, Lori is always asked how the pets that were left at home are doing. We are excited to have Simba be a part of our group and believe he will bring joy to the people he visits.

Callie loves her pink stroller. She likes to ride through the halls at the facilities she visits and sit on people's laps as they pet her. Callie is a 1 1/2 year old long-haired Calico cat. Callie was registered as a Pet Partner in March 2007. She loves people and they enjoy stroking her long soft coat as she purrs and arches her back. Although the majority of the residents we visit love the dogs, there are a few that are totally cat-people. They miss their own cats and thoroughly enjoy Callie's visits
