An International Workshop addressing Water Resources
and Hydroelectrical Potentials in the Nile Basin was held on
the 4th of January 1997 at Room 207, Civil Engineering Department of Imperial
College (From 2.00pm to 7.30pm) and it was a spectacular success. For description

Co-operating with Book Aid International Charity
Organization, SESUKI provided 1200 New Books (costing about 15,000 sterling
Pounds) covering Electrical, Mechanical & Chemical Engineering with
few books in Medicine, Economics for University of Khartoum-Sudan,
for more details click here
-
As a direct result of the Water Resources and Hydroelectrical Potentials
in the Nile Basin workshop, SESUKI arranged between
08 March and 08 April 1997 a visit to Sir Alexander Gibb & Partners
Company for a Sudanese postgraduate engineer studying in University of
Bologne (Italy). He is currently doing his PhD in Management
of Dams in Sudan and the visit helped him to access important missing information
about Dams in Sudan. SESUKI's role was helping him to obtain an entry visa
to UK, as well as provision of help and guidance in UK. SESUKI wishes to
thank the staff of Sir Alexander Gibb & Partners for their co-operation.
-
Wrote 6 recommendation letters to UK Universities referring to Sudanese
Engineers who seek to do Postgraduate study in UK.
-
Links were established with several UK-based Charity Organizations that
promised once the needs of the Sudanese Technical Institutions are provided
(e.g. Equipment), they will allocate a budget within the structure of their
Organizations to achieve these needs. The establishment of these needs
was carried out in October 1996 and we received several feedback letters
from Institutes in Sudan.
-
SESUKI have established a link with most of Professional Engineers Institutions,
such as Institution of Electrical Engineers, Institution of Chemical Engineers,
etc., in order to update the Engineering Departments in Sudanese Universities
with their requirements for syllabuses; this update allows automatic associated
membership for the graduates of these Universities. This update was missed
since 1982, and we are glad that it will be established in the near future.
-
SESUKI provided Co-ordination and Information Service for Sudanese Engineers
working overseas, such as those working in the Gulf States and Saudi Arabia,
to access relevant information about postgraduate study in UK. This service
already succeeded in providing sufficient information for two engineers
to choose the right courses. If you are intending to study engineering
in the UK, please send a self addressed A4-size envelope and a covering
letter explaining your needs to SESUKI's address. Nominal fees to cover
this service will be set and the candidate will be informed about it personally.
1200 New Books for University of Khartoum
