South of Bangkok, North of Singapore,
West of Saigon and East of Sri Lanka,
Welcome to Phuket. A beautiful place
and a fun place to be. It is distinct from
any other area of Thailand, as there is a
clearly international presence, due to the
large mix of residents from all over Asia, as
well as Europe and North America. It is a
good compliment to the Thai culture, which
is in it self diverse in Phuket, with both the
North and the South of Thailand, Buddhist
and Muslim cultures, clearly present. The
geography: mountains, valleys, rice paddy,
fishing villages, simple guesthouses and
world class hotels, they are all here, in
the setting provided by Andaman Sea,
the eastern shores of the Indian Ocean.
And, always. the welcome and the smile....
