The Ethiyopian Community
The Ethiopian Community

On 1982 Israel astonished the world in a remarkable air evacuation of the Ethiopian Jewish community for Ethiopia.

A large portion of the community was setteld in Beer Sheva. Today there are approximatly 10,000 Ethiopians Israelis in Beer Sheva. In the 11th quarter of the city a community center was erected. The conic roof shape reminds the shape of the barracks in the villages of Ethiopia.

Most of the elders are wearing the Ethiopian traditional cloths as can be seen in the picture.
