The municipality building of Beer Sheva
The municipality building of Beer Sheva

The building was built on 1974 . The design took in account the severe weather conditions in the area and from the outside it seems that the building does not have windows. Actually, it has long narrow windows hidden by concrete projections.

The Building as a whole, is made of exposed concrete and suits the 1970s tendency of gray concrete dominating the look of the building. In the center of the building there is a square pier with a lot of vegetation and huge windows allowing the day light entering the buildings’ corridors without exposing the people in it to the hot direct sun shine. All municipality departments are in this building and of course the Majors’ office is here.

The trade mark of Beer Sheva describes an ESHEL desert tree and the observation tower attached to the municipality building. Beer Sheva municipality serves a population of 160,000 inhabitants.
