Which Nature Are You Feeding?
We have the story of the Butcher Bird. He was hatched out in the nest of a Mocking Bird. These two birds resemble one another, but their natures are entirely different. The mother Mocking Bird feeds both birds; but the Butcher Bird seemed to have the greater appetite, so required more food. Since he got more food than the other bird he grew to be the biggest. But the sad thing was that when he was grown, he killed the other bird. The moral of this story is, that we have two natures; the spiritual and the carnal. Which nature are you feeding the most? If you feed this natural carnal nature more than you do the spiritual, it will surely, one day, kill the spiritual entirely. We need to feed our spiritual lives on the Word of God, and keep filled with the Spirit and we shall not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.
