Ashley currently works exclusively on softball, with obvious emphasis on improving her pitching. She will return to the weight room in July working mainly on power and speed. Her regimen for now is pitching practice Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, leaving Monday open for recovering from weekend tournaments, and Friday is open to allow rest before a tournament.
Her weight training schedule is 3 days a week, working the entire body each of the days. She will begin with approximately 6 weeks of strength training which consists of finding her max for each exercise and lifting 80% of it, with 3 sets of 10 reps, working up to 15 reps. Then, she moves to power which is 70% of max, 3 sets of 12 up to 15 reps. Finally we work speed and endurance which is 60% of max, 3 sets of 20 up to 25 reps.
