- I’m married to John Fussell and we own a computer repair business. I moved in the middle of 9th grade and finished high school in Georgia. I graduated from UNO in 91, moved to Alabama when my family moved and taught elementary school PE and Library for 13 years. I met John in 1998 and got married in 2005. We live on a farm and have cows and raise Bantam Chickens. We have 4 cat children and 1 puppy child. We also have Koi and goldfish in our pond. Besides working in the yard and tending to our “children” we like to ride the motorcycle and spend time down at the lake. Winter months are spent fixing up old motorcycles and ATVs and selling them. Of course, being computer repair techs, we are on the computer way too much.

- All of my memories are from Logan Fontenelle, but I do remember track meets and a few other events at Bellevue West. I substituted there before I left Bellevue and think that I really would have enjoyed graduating from West. They didn’t even offer Volleyball when I moved to Georgia and if you remember me at all, you’ll remember that I loved V-Ball. I met many of the old teachers from Logan when I student taught at East and substituted at West. Of course, I remember the Mission/Logan rivalry and the East/West rivalry. Hope you have a great reunion. I’d love to hear from you.
- Steve Jesus

My first child, Matthew, was born January 3, 1997. My fondest memory from high school is getting busted in the Bellevue East parking lot with Jimmy Ditoro, Paul Sterba, and Tom Gilbert with beer. Everyone thought we got caught with drugs, and that we were being arrested. And they wouldn't let me finish my hamburger. Children: Matthew - 6 months

- Rita Kallman Muth
- I got married to a wonderful man in 1995. We met at law school. In addition to having careers in the same field, we enjoy playing racquetball, going fishing and playing with our three year old greyhound. Our senior year, we kept a list of all the "many professions, both real and imaginary, of Mr. Fred Crow." My favorite profession on the list was Barry Manilow's wardrobe coordinator! It makes me shudder to think that Fred is now back in style!
Obviously, the most important highlights so far have been meeting my husband Bill while in law school and having our children. I have been lucky enough to be a stay-at-home mom while maintaining a law practice from my home. We enjoy everything outdoors, especially boating and fishing. One of the fond memories from high school was getting in trouble our sophmore year for trying to pick a fight with some girls at North during a volleyball game and the lecture we got from Coach Lebedtz two years later when the North game was played at their school again. Remember the look on his face Kari Lentz? Children: Molly - 3, Jacob - 1
-
- I married my law school sweetheart in 1995 and then graduated from law school in 1996. We lived in Omaha and I practiced family law until 2003, when Bill’s job with Kellogg’s brought us to Battle Creek. Now I “practice” family as a stay-at-home mother of three kids. When we are not going or doing the kid’s activities, I like to go boating, fishing or to the movies. I still read everything I can get my hands on and we have started to do a little traveling.
-
- In volleyball practice, Mr. Lebetz used to get a kick out of blocking our spike attempts AND in spiking over and through our block attempts. I took great pride in the fact that one day I spiked the ball so hard that it hit him in the face and knocked off his glasses! He was a good coach, but he had it coming.Children: Molly-8, Jake-6, Jenna-3

She has her bachelors degree in Music Education from UNL, her masters in Vocal Performance from MSUM, and is planning on pursuing her doctorate in Vocal Performance/Opera in the fall of 2003. - Upon graduation, I served as a volunteer at the Baha'i National Center in Chicago for six months. Since my return to Omaha, I've met my husband, now of sex years, and received a Bachelor's of Education degree. I now teach elementary art and enjoy ALMOST all of my students. I continue to be active in the Bahai faith and look forward to the next ten years. I guess this is considered a "fond" memory...flipping off the government teacher (Mr. Kalahan?) at the beginning of class (ironically enough, this may have promoted my interest in teaching), and the general gathering in the commons before, during and after school with all associates.
My husband Jess and I have been married 10 years. We have 2 precious gifts, our children, who amaze, inspire, and entertain us daily. Our hobbies include restoring our large older home...ourselves! I've taught elementary art in Omaha Public Schools for over 7 years and will also be teaching technology starting in the fall. I enjoy coordinating and collaborating with a Baha'i youth group called Y.O.U. (Youth on Unity). We design and paint murals to promote concepts of Unity. This summer will be our 5th mural. Share a fond memory of your school years that classmates can appreciate...Chocolate shakes and french fries for lunch....ummm! Spending countless hours with my best friend Christine Gabel (Colontoni) and driving through the Old Market with Rachel Evans singing Frank Sinatra "New York, New York." A few parties at my apartment...especially the one where I drove Sloth home after playing "house mom" to his hangover. Car surfing with Kevy (Tubbs) & Dee Pak. Driving around with Kevin Hope, John Moran and many other associates listening to R.E.M. Children: Aaden - 3, Seff 1 1/2
-
- My husband and I will be married 16 years this summer! We have 3 beautiful children...finally got my girl. I'm still teaching in OPS as an art teacher pre-k through 6th grade. I'm an active member of the local Baha'i community, serving as Secretary on the Local Spiritual Assembly for over 7 years now. I even did a presentation about the Baha'i Faith at Bellevue West's Comparative Religion's class 2 years ago! My husband and I had the great pleasure of going on pilgrimage to Hafia Israel 3 years ago, and look forward to doing more international traveling in the future (far, far future). And for fun we make our annual pilgrimage to the north for a Minnesota Viking's game at the Metrodome. I was able to participate in a public art project in Omaha called Benchmarks where I painted a bus bench.(Currently located near Westroads but, has been purchase by my school and hopefully will find it's finally resting place in our outdoor classroom courtyard...soon) I'm also hoping to start a small cake decorating business, time permitting. Edible art...now that’s good art!
-
- I think I may have shared my fondest memories for the 5 & 10 year reunion....But here goes a few more. I always enjoyed Mrs. Feingold's creative writing classes (now evident in my Holiday letters each year...I'm obsessed). I remember writing an essay answer for my Algebra test telling Mr. Bass how sorry I was for not listening, as I fought back the tears. I recall my many study halls...where very little studying took place...unless writing marathon long notes to Christine and Rachel could count as creative writing. I fondly remember getting a pass in journalism to take photos for the school paper/yearbook...at the MALL! Children: Aaden 8, Seff 6, and Ella 4
- Julie Kujawa DiGiacomo
- Almost six years ago I married a wonderful man named Ted, who is as PGA golf professional. I became an elementary school teacher in Papillion and I love my job dearly. I finished college and continued on to earn a master's degree last year (Ph.D coming? Maybe.) I play a lot of competitive volleyball and golf. Throughout my school years, there are many fond memories. I am just happy to have met so many great friends to share my joys and sorrows with. Each day at Bellevue West was definitely an adventure.
I currently have a full and wonderful life. I enjoy spending time with my husband of almost 11 years and my 4 year old twins. I teach kindergarden for Papillion-LaVista Schools and am one class away from my second Masters Degree in Administration. In our free time my family enjoys going to all the Husker games, playing sports, riding our 4-wheelers, hiking in the forest, and swimming at the lake house. Every day is a new adventure! As I sat and tried to think of a fond memory from high school, I was hard pressed to pick just one. It was great fun to make fun of Mr. Crowe, dissect things with Mr. McDermott, watch John Ogorzaly and Chris Loeffler "try" to intimiidate tiny Ms. Thielen in Spanish, play volleyball, kick back in Mr. Katrina's class, sit around and visit in the commons, and make new friends. I wish everyone in our class a future filled with love, laughter, and dreams come true.

I teach 8th grade Language Arts and love every minute of it. Oh, the stories I could tell! One of the things we love doing is going to the beach in South Carolina. Those trips sparked an interest in travel that we try to satisfy. We travel whenever we can.

- It’s difficult to pick one memory from school. I remember having so much fun after I met Lori Ballinger(Bankey) in Mr. Herringer’s science class at Logan. I was fun to whisper about how cute the new science teacher was in 9th grade. All the band trips, especially to Orlando, hold great memories. But, most of all, I just enjoy remembering the great friends I made at Bellevue West before we moved away. Children: Christian-13, Lexi-8

I worked for the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History for 4 years and then went to work for the Smithsonian Institution’s National Air and Space Museum for 5 years. There, I was a team leader for the move into the new museum facility, The Udvar-Hazy Center, at Dulles International Airport and helped move items such as the SR-71, Space Shuttle Enterprise and helped re-assemble the Enola Gay. In 2001, I married my wife Leah. After living in Washington, DC for a while (me for 10 years, my wife for 7 years) we decided we had enough and packed up and moved to Alaska where I run a museum for the City of Wasilla (40 miles north of Anchorage) and she works for a non-profit conservation group in Anchorage. We have lived in Alaska for two years and absolutely love it—we have moose going through our yard almost every day.Current interests are hiking and biking in the Talkeetna Mountains and the Chugach Mountains or biking along the Coastal Trail in Anchorage.

- I would say one of my fondest memories of my senior year was beating Bellevue East in football. A lot of the guys on the Bellevue East team were friends I had gone to Junior High with and we (Bellevue West) were victorious that night. My least fond memory was being voted “Biggest Ego.” I feel I should have been the “Biggest Flirt.” Steve Fowler and I talk about that all the time. Children: Alexander-7

- I married Dan Svehla, July 21, 1990. I graduated from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln with a BS in Education in 1992. I graduated from the University of Nebraska - Omaha with a MS in Education in 1997. I currently teach 2nd grade for Papillion-LaVista Public schools. enjoy snow skiing in Breckenridge, singing for Mr. Reimer in our church choir, and having my summers off for doing "mom" things. Children: Lindsay - 6, Cale - 2
I married Dan Svehla on July 21, 1990. We are blessed with a daughter, Lindsay - 6th grade, and a son, Cale - 2nd grade. I have taught in Papillion-LaVista for 10 years. Most of our time is spent on the kids - piano, violin, and dancing lessons, soccer, baseball, basketball games and church activities! I was part of the National TETAC grant (Transforming Education Through the Arts Challenge) and wrote a curriculum for the NE Arts Council. My reward last summer was a trip to England with 53 other teachers across NE! Children: Lindsay Alexandra - 11, Cale Andrew - 7
I'm still teaching second grade for PLVS. I had L5/S1 lumbar spinal surgery in Dec. due to a fractured vertebrae which grew bone into my sciatic nerves and sent pain down my back and into my legs and feet. It was somewhat successful, but I'm looking at fusion surgery when I can find a 4-month break in the action of my 2 children. My highlights and interests are Dan (married 17 years in July) and the kids. Lindsay is 16 and a junior at Bellevue West. She is on the Varsity Girls basketball team and also the varsity track team. At the Nebraska State High School track meet this year, she was 2nd in the 100 meter dash and 4th in the 200 meter dash. Her 12.2 time in the 100m was the fastest in Class A in 2007! Cale is 12 and a 7th grader at mission. His football (Bellevue Braves), basketball (Jr. T-birds), and baseball (Bellevue Bruins) keeps our calendar filled and my mind sidetracked from pain and onto the enjoyment, satisfaction, and pride of being a parent. This year has brought a new appreciation to my life, like simply WALKING into our class reunion and relishing in the memories with the dearest of "old" friends. I'm so glad to be here!!!! Children: Lindsay - 16, Cale - 12

- I left Bellevue 10 years ago to head west to Wyoming in search of John Wayne. Although his death was highly publicized in the '70s, I was certain he still lived out west waiting my arrival. Anyway, after graduating from the University of Wyoming, I met my "John Wayne" and married him. Larry is the Hazardous Materials Manager for the University of Wyoming. I gave birth to our daughter, Kaley Ann, in September of '95. Our world revolves around her. After a year, I returned to work part time as an accountant. Between chasing Kaley and managing our rental properties, we keep busy in Laramie and love it. I had many fond memories of high school, but I will never forget when Kim Yonish, Mike McMahon and I put the school up for sale in the Omaha World Herald and had the bill sent to Bud Boilsen (our principal). And who would forget when most of our class dug an '87 in the football hill outside the school. But the times I spent setting up the stage and acting in the school plays with all my friends will remain with me always. Children: Kaley - 21 months
- I would have to say the major highlight of my life was pushing 2 children through the birthing canal while surrounded by nurses and doctors that I really didn’t know very well. And, of course, raising my two children is what life really is all about.
Other than that, highlights of my life consist of meeting my husband Larry and moving around meeting lots of new people over the years. Also, I started my own company last year called, U-ParkIt USA, www.u-parkit.com and love it. I basically sell and build automated garages in North America. I am very fortunate to have the opportunity and completely love my job.
Currently, my family lives in Topeka, Kansas (my home town) surrounded by lots of family. My husband, Larry, works for Kansas University and will probably retire there. And I am very proud to say that Larry also recently retired from serving 20 years in the National Guard. And my current interests, beside family and John Wayne “The Duke”, is Garages, Garages, and Garages!!!
- Oh please, there were so many fond memories, how do I pick just one! Ok, I would have to say when Mark Hanson and I put the school up for sale in the Omaha World Heard. And of course we had the bill for the advertisement sent to the principal, you remember the old guy who really didn’t like me and my “Big Mouth”. But I can’t forget Mr. Warden and his drama classes and all the plays and musicals we performed. I have to say; I really did love high school, so Thanks Everyone!! Children: Kaley Ann Cattoor-11 and Colton Steve Cattoor-3
