Much of what you will learn in the following sections may surprise you, especially if you only have expository writing experience.
For example, if you've ever been told not to begin a sentence with "but" and "however," to say "a great deal of" instead of "a lot of," to use big words instead of small ones, to use transitions like "furthermore" and "moreover," and to saturate your writing with adverbs and adjectives, you're in for a whole new style of writing. But that's OK. This e-ternship will help you expand your writing voice and learn the fundamental principles of writing concise copy.
Effective HelpGram writing takes time and practice. But if you follow the procedures in this guide, particularly in the next sections, you'll be a pro in no time. Good luck!
