It all started with a genius idea long ago to create a game which would have such a great plot that graphics would not matter. A few years later, more geniuses took that idea, added stunning graphics, beautiful sound, and incredible FMVs to create the most incredible games out there. The results were Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, and Parasite Eve. The story takes place in, where else, but New York City. The main character is Aya Brea, a twenty-five year old rookie cop who has not proven herself in the field yet. When she was just a little girl, her sister, Maya, and her mother, Mariko, were killed in a tragic car accident. Although partly raised by her father, Aya spent most of her childhood life in foster care, and that made her tough enough to handle to struggles of NYPD. The story of Parasite Eve picks up with Aya arriving at Carnegie Hall with her date, a very rich upper-classman who begged her to go with him before she finally caved in. All goes well until the lead actress, Melissa Pearce, begins her solo in the Opera. The second her voice begins to bellow, the audience and the actors burst into flames, sending the building into a panic. Those who flee combust as well, but the only one in the room who seems to be fine is Aya Brea, NYPD. Rushing up to confront the actress, she makes a startling discovery about herself. She survived because of her Mitochondria connections with Melissa, or Eve. Throughout the game you spend all of your time chasing Eve, recovering from her attacks, building levels, attempting to stop Eve from creating the impossible, discovering more about Aya and her connections with Eve, and keeping yourself from getting killed. Sound confusing? It is! In order to understand the game and its concept in full, you must play it. Believe me, it's worth both the $45 to purchase or the $3 to rent it! In this game be prepared for: scientific terms, evacuations, Navy assaults, sweet guns, unexpected heroes, human nature, Gaea's Revenge, chaos, massive death and destruction, insane animals, mutated animals, burnt bodies, the U.S.S. Nimitz, incredible FMVs, weird scientists, historical landmarks destroyed, evolution, natural enemies, amazing driving talents, carriage rides, evacuations, slime, more slime, lots 'o slime, resurrected dinosaurs, earthquakes, skydiving, human sacrifice, nuclear weapons, and MUCH, MUCH More! |
