Since the release of Quake II, Multiplayer Servers have been poping up all over the world. These are Quake II servers from all over the US. Try to pick one based on how close you live to it, you will have a smoother runing game. If you live in another part of the world or would like to find your own, you can go to any search engine (like Webcrawler) and type in quake 2 OR quake II. Make sure you use lowercase when you spell quake. Also, Gameaholic has its own Quake II server search engine. NOTE: All you need to write down is the IP address
Capture the Flag is just like it sounds. You are assigned to a team when you join the game, and your goal is to take the other teams flag as much as much as possible. Your team is awarded points whenever one of your teammates or you steal the opposing side's flag. You cannot harm your own teammates, if you shoot them they take no damage. Members of the opposite team can be killed normally. DeathMatch is the true Quake II Multiplayer. It's you versus everyone. The way to win is to have the most kills(Frags) when the time runs out, or be the first to reach the maximum kills(Frags) by shooting other opponents (The maximum kill limit usually ranges from 20-40).
