CIVMANIA - About myself

Well, before anything else, thanks for visiting my page! I hope you liked it. My name is Jared Ostlie, I'm 16 years old, and live in Fargo, North Dakota (United States). I used to live (I just moved a while back) in Iquique, Chile (South America), and it is and always will be my REAL home. You can see a bit about where I used to live when I was in Chile by scrolling down to the bottom of this page. Down in Chile I used to bodyboard/surf and sandboard (sport similar to snowboarding), but now that I live in USA, and I have started playing soccer for my school team, and will start snowboarding this winter. I enjoy playing strategy-war games, simulation games, and race games.

My favorite indoor hobby is POSTCARD COLLECTING, which I started 4 months ago and have totally loved. If you collect postcards or would like to trade for any other reason, please send me an email to: JarPCard@aol.com, and we can arrange something.

I just recently discovered a trustworthy company that pays you to browse on the net. Benefits: average income for it is about 12$ per 17 hours of surfing (which an average person can do in about a week without even trying), and you get 10% of the income for any people you refer to the program and 5% for who ever your referrals reffer and so on for 4 generations. Downside: only that you have a popup ad window while you are surfing the net. Its just awesome once you see the possibilities there. But dont take my word for it, GO CHECK IT OUT! I currently moderate a email list at OneList hosted by this webpage that is obiously oriented to Civ2 game playing. In it people can exchange their thoughts about the game, share information they have discovered related to civ2 and their games, and offer their civ2 creations. It is also a way through which I can inform you of page updates, or get feedback from you guys about this site. I would really apreciate it if you gave it a shot. IQUIQUE

Iquique is a touristic city located in the Atacama Desert, which is the driest desert in the world. It is so dry we have had almost no rain for a couple years, but it doesn't get very hot, because it is a coastal city, and the ocean breeze cools it down. It has a population of about 200,000, so you can get around the city easily. In my opinion, Iquique has the best beaches in Chile. One of them is the Cavancha beach which is very good for surfing, water skiing, or just swimming. Here are some pictures of Iquique and the Atacama desert:
