Outsiders:

This is a truly powerful option that the arcade fighting player has never been able to perform before. With the use of a Windows equipped IBM or Compatible and a special piece of software, the average player can use their powers of imagination and create whole new casts of Fightoids never even conceived of during the creation process of the game. By use of this special software, the player can model a character using a supplied 3-D paint program that is powerful, yet simple, to use. And by using a combination of pull down menus, slide bars, and data entry boxes, the player will be able to choose what kinds of attacks the Fightoid can use, strengths and weaknesses, special abilities, finishing maneuvers, etc. The player will even be able to come up with a brief background story and name for The Fightoid. Then, when the player has created all the assembly work, they run the character through an artificial testing process (also included with the software) to see if their character is legal. (Ex: Not every category is as strong as it can go, or a vital step is missing in the character, etc.) And when the player has finished the masterpiece, they can send in the character for processing either by snail mail or through a phone modem on the computer into the company who created the game. And in a few weeks (for a small fee, of course) that player will receive, via delivery, their ROM Card which contains their prepared Fightoid. On it is their character, ready for combat as soon as the player inserts the card into a specially designed ROM Card Slot, located at either player's station.
By allowing this feature to be possible, the game is allowed to rise to a whole new level where rather than the sport existing in an unrealistically small, private world, it can explode into a virtual world where a cast of thousands is possible. And when their game session is done, the player just simply pulls out the ROM Card and their character is safe and sound, with no one else able to learn the Fightoid's secrets. And, in combination with a saving card, these character's can evolve into better Fightoids. (The process of what kinds of attack exist for what character happens during the transfer between the player's data file and the ROM Card. What maneuver's and at what level's are randomly chosen by the transferring machine at the time of data transfer.)
These unique characters may also develop a trend of being traded amongst players like baseball cards.
