There's not a lot here at the moment but I plan to expand this section shortly. At the moment all you'll find here is a collection of useful links and some (very poor) photos of my troops. I hope that DBA and Flintloque will have a page of their own shortly.

Pushing little man-shapped bits of lead around a green table-cloth -- I love it! I enjoy recreating the military conquests of Republican Rome as well as some other fantasy miniatures wargames. These pages are devoted to:

Flames of War

I seems to be sinking a lot of time into Flames of War these days. It recreates company-level combat in World War Two in such a war that balances playability and accuracy. I spend most of my waking hours designing company-level army lists or reading about actions in the northern France in the period 6 June to 30 January 1944.

I have a gallery of my Flames of War armies. Currently, the only photos there are for my US Armoured Company.

I've also taken some photos of a game in progress. There are plain shots and shots which have been annotated to explain what is going opn. Originally, these were intended for my own edification only but I figured others may enjoy them too.

De Bellis Antiquitatis / Multitudinis

My main interest in figure gaming is examining ancient and medieval battles. The rules I use is the DBx series created by Phil Barker and Richard Bodley-Scott, in particular, De Bellis Antiquitatis (DBA) and De Bellis Multitudinis (DBM).

The periods in which I am most interested are the eras of Republican Rome (DBM Book II, List 33) and France (DBM Book IV, List 4) and Spain (DBM Book III, List 35) at the start of the thirteenth century. I am also very interested in Central Asia in any era and plan on buying a Tibetan (DBM Book III, List 15) or Central Asian City-States (DBM Book III, List 8) army of approximately AD 800 in the not too distant future.

I've got a gallery of photos of my DBA and DBM armies and significant bits of terrain. There's not a great deal here at the moment but this will change shortly.

Here are some worthwhile DBx links:

Flintloque Skirmish

Imagine the world of the Napoleonic Wars -- large bodies of closely drilled infantry standing with muskets and bayonets ready to receive a cavalry charge or artillery barrage; officers and cavalry dandies competing with each other to display the finest frippery; private soldiers shooting at curious rabbits to supplement their meager rations.

Now, replace all humans with fantasy races and you've a good understanding of Flintloque -- black-powder fantasy skirmish rules. In this world, the countries which took part in the Napoleonic Wars are replaced by fantasy races: the British are Orcs, the French are Elves, the Austrians are dog-men and the Russians are a never-ending horde of undead.

Here is a gallery of photos of my Flintloque figures and terrain. There's not a lot here at the moment but that will change in the near future.

Here are some links to start you into this world of high adventure skirmish gaming.
