1876 (previously known as Trinidad), is a pair of microgames, one based on the 1830 ruleset and the other based on the 1835 ruleset. Both use (different) 12 hex maps, have only 3 Corporations and limited number of Private Companies (4) and Trains (11 or 12). Even with these small numbers, the game provides the usual problems for the players and gives the feel of a full 18xx game but all playable in 2 to 3 hours. Primarily for 3 or 4 players, the two games each have their own flavour and show that even with a minimal set it is possible to have a workable mini-18xx game.
