CODEX:
ARBITRATORS OF JUSTICE

The Adeptus Arbites are the dispensers of Justice in the Imperium. They enforce the Imperial Law, which is detailed in the Book of Judgement. This text is regarded as sacred to the order of Judges and Arbitrators that make up the ranks of the Adeptus Arbites. They revere it's teachings and consider the Hall of Judgement, where the Book is kept, as a holy sanctuary of Justice.

Throughout the Imperium, the Arbitrators are the keepers of peace and the defenders of the Imperium against threat from within. They protect the citizens of the Empire from the terrible winds of rebellion, heresy and infestation, not only of Genestealers and Orks, but of men tainted by the powers of Chaos.

The Arbitrator Precinct on a world represents the bastion of Imperial Law and the stronghold of loyalty. The Arbitrators themselves are both feared and revered by the populations of the worlds they oversee. They are devoutly loyal to the Emperor, and cannot be bribed or bought.

The Arbitrators are intentionally better equipped than the forces of the Imperial Guard and most planetary defense forces. This is a safeguard to deter attack. Indeed, they Arbitrators often find that their Precinct Headquarters is often the first target whenever a rouge governor launches a rebellion.
