I have created a system which lets me design a shape in 3D and have it "unfolded" onto a plane which can be printed out, cut out, and folded into the original shape. The system has the ability to draw details to spiff up the shapes a bit. I use it for my line of Paper Miniatures. The idea is to produce free (or almost, depending on how you copy 'em and such) miniature tanks and other vehicles for use in miniatures games. (See my Miniatures page.)
I know that most miniatures-players like the visual appeal of well-modeled and well-painte vehicles on impressive scenery. While these are not going to appeal to the diorama crowd, it is hard to argue with the price, and they make a good starter set.
I spent some effort on these things, and while you are perfectly free to print 'em out and use 'em and give 'em to friends, you may not sell them. Please leave my name in the PostScript comment in the file. Here is some more information from my original About file.
Here's a picture of some examples, next to some Games Workshop Epic scale miniatures.
Miniatures can be built up from a chassis and a turret. There are several of each kind.
Chassis pieces:
The first three are grav tank/hovercraft types.

Here are 4 styles of tracked vehicles:

track2
track3
track4
Turret pieces:
artillery:
This looks like a long gun on a ramp.
artillery2:
Artillery piece with gun that looks like it could be moved up and down
launcher: missile/rocket launcher
(One of these on top of a GW Rhino makes a good GW Whirlwind.)
top:
Looks sorta like a bunker, actually. Sits on top of a tank vehicle.
turret: basic tank turret
Other:
scooter: a small grav vehicle
To do:
I'd like to make a bunker. Would probably be pretty easy and look good,
especially with the shaded rectangles.
