About The Junkyard

Staff

Well, here's the staff of the Junkyard- all three of us, now!

CamTarn - Webmaster

Well, I'm CamTarn - AKA Andy Walker. I'm 14, and I go to school (duh!) at Bearsden academy in Glasgow - that's SCOTLAND, folks - not England! I am thoroughly obsessed with computers (otherwise, how do you think this site went up?) and I think I could probably name most of the DLLs of Windows by now. (Not 'cos I'm sad - it's because I have a crappy computer.) I enjoy reading - that's why I collect so many of these stories. I read so fast I run out of books! No, seriously, I do. I read maybe a book a day, maybe two or three if I'm not doing anything, and four or five if I can't sleep. You see what I mean about running out of books. I might have a picture up here soon, so watch this space!

Chris Elgin - Co-Webmaster
Hey, I'm Chris. I'm 13 and am here in the states. More specifically, Frankfort (aka, middle of no where), Illinois. I'm probably as obbessed with computers as Andy, if not more. I'm a huge fan of all strategy warfare games, though TA is currently my favorite. I'm still a budding Web Designer, currently maintaining 3 or 4 pages. I'm definatly more of a writer than a reader. Don't get me wrong, I can really get into a good Bond novel, I just can't control myself to sit here and read for 3 hours. Anyway, this is me. I have a scanner, and may post a couple things. Thanks . . .

Sterling - New Member, Writer, Coder, and Odd-Jobs Guy
I'm Sterling. I think that some of you will know me from CaveDog's TA Warstories board, on their homepage. I'm about 16 years old (making me the oldest person on this site, other than possibly John/Pyro). I live somewhere up in Canada. Hard to tell exactly where, but we get a lot of snow and rain. Then again, that could be anywhere in Canada, so that's no too helpful. I haven't been told exactly what my job here is yet, so I'll be doing general odd jobs for a while, until we work out what I'm supposed to do. Right now, as I said in the news page, I'm working on converting some of my Warstories to a special HTML format. Adding things like text styles and horizontal rules, and fixing up errors. Like the 187295 to 178295 error that seems to be plagueing Boot Camp. IRL, I enjoy reading and tinkering with computers. Everything from programming to HTML to games. I think I'd betters stop this now, before I increase this document's size too much....

About The Junkyard itself...

The Junkyard was established on the 5th of January in 1999, and it took a grand total of two hours to write and design. Hmm...does that say anything about the build quality here? So far it's been quite successful, for one of my sites... the last two never got up on the Net. The Junkyard had currently undergone around four or five redesigns, the first three within a few hours of each other.

Credits...

The Junkyard was built with Netscape Composer, Paint Shop Pro, MiniNoteTab, HPIView and MapMaker32. Most of my stuff came free with magazines or from the Internet.

The site was designed to run on almost any screen, and can be run without frames or without images on. The menubar was made by hand in Paint Shop Pro, and the section headings were also made in the same program.
