Frappe Snowland

  1. Burning Rubber:Basic Tips to Gain Speed
    1. Stay in control of your kart. Unlike some other tracks (like Yoshi), there are no fences to hit if you overshoot a turn. Therefore, it is better to spare the powerslides on some of the small, sharp turns rather than skidding off into the snow. With practice, every corner can be turbo-powerslided around, but the time saved on doing this around the little corners is small given the penalty for missing.

    2. The field of snowmen partway through the course destroys many players, but it is quite easy to navigate. Just go to the extreme left side of the field, and you will notice that there is a small space in between the snowbank and the closest snowmen. Sneaking through this corridor saves time, and entails little or no risk.

    3. Many of the turns can be cut short in order to gain time. For example, on the turn right after the field of snowmen, if you turn left before you get to the turn, you can take a shortcut over the snowbank, and you will rejoin the track ahead of your previous pace.

    4. From Scottie "ex-cellent" Bristow. A very interesting, and little known, quirk unique to Frappe Snowland is that the snowmen are more than just obstacles to avoid. Any hill or turn that is populated with snowmen can be traversed without interference from Lakitu! As long as you don't stray too far into the snowbanks, Lakitu will leave you alone. Possessing this knowledge can drastically reduce your best times for this track (it lowered mine by nearly 2 seconds). In a 4-player game, being the only one who knows this means that you can gain time on the field just by using your mushrooms/stars on these hills (that is, until everyone else catches on).
