Name: Thorin (known as Th'rin)
Personality: quiet and shy, very good with herbs
History:
Only son of a dragonrider named K'leev. His mother died when he was only 9, and his father took a new mate, and started a new family. He has two sisters, Mara, and Cill. His father's new mate and mother to his two sister's is meek unjoined Racine.
His grandfather, and his great grandfather were also dragonriders as well as his mother and his grandmother, and it was expected that Thorin would be as well. But the boy failed to join, and he has stood so many times, he can't keep track. The disappointments threw him further into his introverted world. He spent many hours with Whiteriver's healers learning much about herbal lore. He finally found something he was good at.
He finally joined to a tiny wild dragon egg he found and cared for. She is female and Thorin took a long time to accept the implications of their joining.
Th'rin fell in love with the Warren's junior queenrider, Merissa, before he joined with Areena, but it wasn't until after his joining that he gained enough confidence to tell her.
His closest friends were Aradia and Pa'gan, the bear nomads. They seemed to be the only people who truly understood him. Pa'gan died in an adventure to regain his honor. Aradia died going after him. Aradia gave birth to their son Oberon, which means bearheart just before she died. Though premature the infant was strong. Th'rin took on the task of being the infant's foster father. And asked Merissa to be his mate, so the three of them could be a family.
Aradia's sister, Xanthia arrived in the warren shortly after Aradia's and Pa'gan's deaths. A skilled healer, Th'rin took on the responsibility of taking her under his wing. It created many problems from Th'rin when it was discovered that she was pregnant with his child. He and Merissa had just accepted a co-mate named Tarv'renon to join their family, but Tarv was unstable and attacked Xanthia and her child.
Tarv'renon was incarcerated and Merissa, Th'rin, and Oberon are attempting to make a life together with Xanthia and her daughter, Alina.

Dragon: Areena
Areena was the single egg of a wild, non-queen who abandoned the tiny egg. Thorin cared for the egg and joined with her when she hatched. Being a runt she did not grow more then 15 ft until well after a year of age when she suddenly had a growth spurt and flew to mate.
She has a calming effect on other dragons and has been very helpful in soothing the dragons of riders whom Th'rin is healing.
