Hi
Damn, when I read your first chapters I said "Well this is pretty
good". Now all I do is wait for the next one to come (I am suppose
to be working right now). I waited inpatiently for the last chapter
(Chapter 13) and when I finally read it (well I almoust ate it) and
it just took a few seconds (that is what I felt like) I wanted more
and I wanted it right that moment.
When you finish this you should really consider publishing it. I
read a lot of sci-fi books but your writing is simply one of the
best (if not THE best)

Tekumze
(13 Nov) - Thanks Tekumze
You know, it's tremendously encouraging to receive mails like yours. I've been very busy these last weeks (moving to a new apartment, among other things), so my production rate has slowed.
However, I'll try to give it a serious push this weekend.
Man, I wish I could publish the stories!!!
Hola Fernando
I'm really enjoying reading your stories - I joined around chapter seven and reading that first download was a great way to spend an afternoon!
I'd like to join your mailing list - please keep me informed of future postings.
Thanks
Gavin
(10 Nov) - Thanks!
Excellent work so far on the X-com work....It's a pleasure to read some
decent stuff for a chenge..and books down here in Australia are too
expensive....
I have been forwarding your work to friend who has never enjoyed
reading, but loves xcom, ships, battles and sci-fi... When I found your
stuff, I kew this was too good an opportunity to miss.
His reading and understanding of literature is growing, thanks to the
help of your work.
Once again, congratulations. Once I finish all my exams and get some
spare time, I might begin writing the odd story..
Ed
(10 Nov) - Wow, if I can bring the joy of reading to someone, all this will be worth it! Looking forward to reading your stuff.
I've read every single X-COM story I've been able to find, and while not
getting the feel of the game into the stories, you have created a new feel.
which is, to say the least, better. Keep it up, 'cause it's great!
PLEASE put me on your mailing list!!!
/Zembar
PS. the bits with the scientists studying the aliens and their equipment
are my favourites. DS.
(10 Nov) - and they're the hardest - I try to make some sense with the 'tech breakthroughs' and let me tell ya - it ain't easy!
Awesome stories, keep up the good work.
AND GET THAT NEXT CHAPTER DONE!!!!!
THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME!!!!
(10 Nov) - I'm hurrying, I'm hurrying!!!!
G'day,
I've just read your first X-com story. Its real good, but just a few
points.
I hate to say it, but the description of the Sectoids ain't all that
good. They look like a lot of things, but a man definatly isn't one of
them! "A short, grey figure" sound better? I dunno though.
Anyway, the second thing is this: There are a lot of story's about X-Com
in the northern hemisphere, but Australia hardly get's a mention.
Do you take requests? Cos mine is, *say something about Oz!*
Well, thats my soap box. Looking forward to the next story!
Andrew
(10 Nov) - Actually, I get quite a few requests to include other countries! Maybe I'll work on the Sectoids a little.
I grabbed all your story's last night, stuck 'em on disk and read the
lot last night. Good stuff! Could you wack me on the mailing list
please?
Thanks
Andrew
(10 Nov) - The lot? whoa, stayed up late, then?
Hello Fernando,
Your stories are superb, I think I read the printouts more then
ten times already. Although there are some speling mistakes .. well .. I
can live with that:)
Anyway .. I have been checking into your websites more often then
I would check my mail and well .. it is getting abit tiring to check it
everyday so that I won't miss any updates. So I was hoping that you could
put me into your mailing list? .. I would apreciate it. :)
Keep up the good work and may the light shine on you.
(10 Nov) - Actually, the last chapters are corrected with Word's speller so they should be clean. Anything slipping through should be considered a typo :-)
You are GOOD!!!!! Publish your work for heaven sake and of course
for the sake of those who wants to read them in hard cover rather then
laser printouts .. :)
love,
Isaac
(10 Nov) - Publish? Yeah, I wish.....
They're great! If Spanish is your native language, then I
can't imagine how good your stories would be in it. I'm taking a
class in Spanish composition and writing styles right now, and
apparently your English writing is a lot better than my Spanish
writing. In fact, it's probably better than what I write in English,
too (yipe!). Anyway, keep up the good work. How many chapters do
you envision there being when the story finishes?
Michael
(30 Oct) - Yes, Spanish is my first language but as a diplomat's son I grew up in English-speaking countries. Still, I sweat through each chapter, reading and re-reading quite a lot.
I'm not sure how many chapters there will be. In truth, it all started out as an essay (see if I could write a chapter) and sort of developed. I'll continue writing as long as I have fun.
But I expect things to keep going for some time!
I've read all the chapter you worte, have to admit it was the best x-com
story i've ever seen. One thing, are you planning to include the psionic
ability of the alien(and maybe some human) into the story because in all
chapter i have not seen its use very much.
sorry if my english is not so good i don't use it as my first language
(27 Oct) - Hi
I'm thinking about it. I have already made some reference to telepathic abilities of the aliens.
But my main objective is to try to present the aliens as a race not that advanced. Actually, they've just discovered space travel a dozen years before the action takes place.
Maybe I'll start to introduce a little psionic abilities, but in any case, short range stuff, mind you.
Hi!
keep up the good work, the episode nr. 12 is the best yet. The lenght of
the episode was right, not to small and not to big. (some of your
episodes are a bit to small, people read them thru very fast). The
action is good, I hope there will be a lot of action, courageuos suicide
attacks etc.. you could detail the air combats a bit more.
some constructive criticism as well. Some of your events that occur end
way to fast. Like the raid on the hive in africa, you might wanna add
some lines on how they leave the hive etc. and then the grey that
escaped from the base. as I remember, it was escaping the compound. at
that point the episode ended. in the following episodes I hoped to read
what had happened to the grey, was it shot, did it get away etc...
anyway, keep up the good work, you are one of the two best writers
writing their X-Com saga.
Maniac
(24 Oct) - I hope to include some more air-to-air stuff, plus the alien in Cheyenne will return. Next chapter will have some tech. breakthroughs and new developments in Peru. Thanks for the comments!
Great job! However, you left out a few small details involving SEAL's and
special
operations personnel in general. First of all a SEAL or Ranger team never
ever
leaves the bodies of their comrades behind. No actual Navy SEAL team has
ever
left bodies behind in the history of the teams (their that damn good)!
This is also
a part of the Ranger Creed which I had to memorize before I left ROTC and
its an
important point. Also the size of the team was a little unrealistic.
Nowaday's
SEAL teams can run as large as 200 people including support personnel and
actual shooters and so you should have specified the team you sent in as a
platoon
or ready reaction force just to be anal retentive about it. Other than
that though your tactical knowledge was relatively on the mark though a
reinforced platoon like your first chapter pointed out would probably not
have brought in an M-60 but rather a SAW or equivalent weapon as H-K MP5's
are better suited for room clearing in an enclosed area like a cruise ship.
All in all though, they were damn lucky they brought in heavy weapons an
its a wonder that any of them made it out in one piece given the psionic
capabilities of Sectoids and the kind of firepower they carry around in
their pockets. Keep it up though and I can't wait to see more of your
writing!
Icebreakr
(23 Oct) - Whoa - good info. Thanks! Yeah, you're right on the dead comrades part.

If you feel like contacting me with criticism (constructive, I hope) please do so at fsch@elpais.es
