The battle schedule for the Tournament -Single is finalised. Please check it for the time. Note that your prompt arrival is much appreciated and the game will start on the dot.

I will be processing the new applicants ASAP. But to introduce a brand new squad that had just joined us - Rim Fire Squadron from Southern Australia (61st Squad). They are Firefly (Squad Commander), Talisian (XO), Cobra, Wolfman and Wolverine. Welcome!

Warning: [JEDI], appointed SC of 22nd Squad, had indicated to me his reluctance in taking up the responsibility of a Squadron Commander a few weeks ago. As a result, there was no contact between the command and the pilots of 22nd Squadron. I would like to stress to all SWSC pilots that this behaviour is very unacceptable. Please consider carefully before you decide to apply for a Squad Commander position 'cos there will be alot of time devoted in organising a squad for you and such behaviour will tarnish the reputation of the Staff Officer Core. Hence, the position of SC of 22nd Squad is hereby declared vacant and [JEDI] is demoted to the rank of Recruit and you have to approach the squad that you are interested in for acceptance into their squad yourself.

Delegation of Responsibility In view of the event and the increased workload that would come with more members, the responsibility of maintaining pilot database will be delegated to respective WCs and SCs. Admiral(Manpower) Shadow will be overseeing such matters on my behalf. I will be concentrating on other matters. I hope to re-design the application form such that the particulars will be directed to the WCs of the Wing that the new pilot has indicated interest in. For those squad that do not belong to any Wing, or for those new pilots who had not indicated any preference, they will be diverted to Admiral(Manpower) directly. The Admiral will then assign the pilot to existing squads based on location. However, the creation of new squad or new wings should have the approval of the Grand Admiral.

Reminder: Can those SCs who had not updated me with their pilots' SWSC Rank do so ASAP?

Update: The concensus for the issue of custom missions is such that we should not make it compulsary and RPs should be awarded to the missions created as a form of encouragement. And RPs will be awarded according to the quality of the mission.

Also, The Epic had received many submission from fellow members and I hope to get more input before putting up a draft for you to read.So keep those submission coming.

Jester has also indicated his desire to contribute in the capacity as Admiral(Technology) in the EC. He is now hereby appointed as Staff Officer [Eagle] and his promotion to full fledge Admiral will be dependant on his contribution. Congratulation, Jester!

I have finally finished my exams and have the time now to update this site. For those of you who have enrolled in the Tournament - Team Event, please check with coneboy about the schedule (which is on Friday night).

For those of you who had registered to join SWSC during my period of inactivity, I will do my best to process them within the next two days. But by all means, join us at the IGZ during the tournament.

New Addition: I will be adding a Search page to the site so that members can come here for their 'Shopping'. Press Here.

Tournament -Solo Event: I will be putting up the schedule for the event. Please check the Tournament Bulletin for your group and who you'll be fighting against. This should be up by Saturday morning (30 Aug).

If you have noticed, I'd been 'abit' slag in updating this site and organising SWSC meetings lately. The reason is that I have an exam in one and a half weeks time. However, we will be back on.... full force after that!

Capitol Ship: With the help of Shadow, we are now coming up with a story line for SWSC (finally!!!!). In the story, all squadrons are based on capitol ships, and we are fighting for our share of land (or planets) and resources. As such, Squadron Commanders have to choose a capitol ship for their formation. Many squads are already based in motherships and for those that have not, you can get the information from the XvT game itself in the 'Craft' section. Please choose a ship that correspond to the alignment (ie, Rebel or Imperial) of starfighter that your squad fly most of the time. The matter is not finalised yet, and will not be until the end of the month. Meanwhile, please send me your suggestions and you are more than welcome if you want to contribute to the story. I thought of using the tittle, 'The Epic', to represent our struggle.

SWSC Flag Ship: I had thought of a few names for SWSC's flag ship (which will be the largest and most powerful) and came up with the name "ABYSS". But I would like to invite all SWSC members to submit the names that they thought appropriate for our flag ship. Bear in mind that the setting is many decades (almost a century?) after the original star wars and now is the time where no particular forces rule. Those names that sound appropriate to The Epic will be put up for voting. The deadline for submission is 28 Aug 97.

For all submissions and suggestions, you can contact me here.

Tournament: With the prompting by Dragon, we will be having our first Tournament on 30 Aug 97. All squadrons are encouraged to participate and SCs please submit the names of the pilots to the respective Officer-in-charge.

Important Notice to all SCs and WC: Please note that RPs are awarded for missions flown against SWSC pilots only. It's your responsibility to ensure that RPs are awarded accordingly.
SWSC Starfighter Academy: established by Thomo et al. It's recruiting teachers (Professors?) and aims to train SWSC pilots. If you are interested, visit them.
Custom Mission: Yes, we should start customising missions that are suitable to our scenario. Should all squad produce a custom mission each week? Each pilot in the squad will take turns and Admiral (Intelligence) will keep record of it. And we'll have a central depot for our members to download. Let me know what you think.

New Squadrons! SWSC is growing at a phenomenal speed and now we have over 50 pilots! I have noted quite a significant number of pilots who are from out of Australia, notably from US. The problem in including them in the league is that there will be time differences that will affect the game. As such, they are now not been included in our member list.
We are looking into appointing a Admiral (Sector) who will look after these batch of pilots. The new appointment will sit on the Executive Council and will have to be from out of this time zone (ie, Australia). Those who are interested, please mail me. EC would prefer someone from US to manage this large cohort of pilots (due to proximity reason). Like other SWSC members, they will be expected to participate in our meetings via The Internet Gaming Zone - Australia.

The new squadrons are:
16th Squadron
22nd Squadron
and a reshuffling of 101 Squadron (Avavile will be sitting on the Executive Council only)
Thus, we are in need of a new Squadron Commander for 101st Squadron. Would the 101st squad pilots please indicate if they are interested in the job. Or else, this squad will be under direct command of Shadow - Admiral(Manpower).

Conflicting of nickname: Nickname Blade and Viper had been used. Can the pilots who registered later, and who'd been notified by Shadow, submit your new nickname.

Member List: All pilots should check for their posting from the Posting List. The member list will no longer be maintained for those who had been assigned to a squadron. The member list will, from now onwards, be like a 'holding chamber' for those pilots who'd not been assigned to a squadron. It will also list those who'd been inactivated and suspended.

Hello eveyone, I'm back! I would need some time to process and assign the new members. In view of the 'FLOOD' of new members, there are definitely limited time for me to process each applicatioin and put them up on the SWSC site. As such, there will be an extra stage added to the registration process!
New prospective members will have to obtain a Referee and the corresponding Reference Code. They would have to present themselves to IGZ - Australia and to any SWSC Staff Officers (SCs, Wing Commanders) for verification. The Staff Officer's responsibility is to ascertain that the new member has the game XvT and that there are no reasons to believe that he/she will not be an active member. You may give him/her your Reference Code only when you are satisfied that he/she is worthy to be included to SWSC. This new policy has been included as part of the Responsibility of Squadron Commanders.
Please contact the Grand Admiral if you have not been assigned your code. This is to ensure that no time is wasted in processing those who is not going to be active in the league.
The new members may e-mail you to arrange for a special meeting for this purpose.
Also, notice to all SCs and WCs: to be able to award RPs to your pilots for attending squad meetings, you will have to put up the notice on the SWSC Pilot's Lounge at least 2 days in advance. This will thus give your squad meeting an 'official' status and so that other SWSC members would be aware of such a gathering- so that they can come to the meeting too! If the notice is not posted as directed, you ARE NOT allowed to award them RPs.

Increasing the number of Squad pilot position: In order to accomdate more pilots and fulfill the satisfaction in commanding a larger squadron, I am considering increasing the number of pilots in each squadron (except HQ squad) to 6 or maybe even 8. So, please do not be alarmed if you find more than 4 pilots in your squadron! If you have any suggestions, please contact me.

A newly designed index page and navigation system! Hope that this is more appealing. Do let me know what you think.

Important
I will be away for 2 weeks and thus not available to update the member list until about 3 Aug 1997. During my abscence, Shadow [Admiral(Manpower)] will be standing in for me. If you have any questions please contact him. For new pilots who want to fly in the 2 weeks can also contact Shadow after registration. His e-mail is bmonk@xtra.co.nz, or you can reach him at his homepage.

Warning:
It has come to my attention that one of our pilots had been very abusive in IGZ. Grand Admiral would like to urge all SWSC pilots to avoid playing any games and chatting with him. The pilot is Grim Reaper. Can the pilot email the Executive Council your explanation. The pilot will be removed from SWSC member list if no explanation is submitted in the next 2 weeks.

Reporting Battles
Attention all pilots! When you report battle result to your superior, please include the followings:
  1. Nicknames of all SWSC pilots involved in the game.
  2. Nickname of the person reporting and his/her password.
  3. Type (eg., training, melee), Date, winners/lossers and any comments about the battle.
  4. Calculated RPs that are to be assigned to each pilot.
The pilot who submit the report is known as Mission Observer. Field Officers are empowered to report if no Staff Officers are available. If the pilots belong to different squad, the mission observer has to submit the same result to individual Formation Commanders. The Commanders then have to update their own formation homepage. Executive Council will have to informed of any promotion or demotion.
In the near future, I will design a sample form for formation commanders to put on their homepage to standardise the format. However, if you had or going to design one, please let me know, so that I can divert my time to developing other areas.

Formation Homepage
Attention all Squad Commanders! In view of the release of the Ranking Chart and Promotion Guideline, please include the followings in your squad homepage.
For each of your pilot, maintain a record of at least the following,
  1. their particulars, including nickname, sector, XvT and SWSC ranking.
  2. Last battle date.
  3. PRVs and their breakdown of RPs according to Seniority, Skill, Level of Participation, Field Performance and Appointment Points.
  4. Include the details about the battles that the pilot was involved in (in the Field Performance Section) eg, position in a melee, winner/losser in a combat, and also the date of each combat that the pilot fought in.

If you include all the above details, your homepage will be a Grade B homepage!!!
I will put up a sample homepage in the near future but if you had or are going to design one, let me know and maybe I could link you in as a 'sample' page for others to consider.

Pilot Lounge
In an effort to make SWSC pilots feel at home, SWSC has renovated its 'Guestbook' into a Pilot Lounge. All SWSC pilots are welcomed to put up notices about their thoughts, grievances or challenges to fellow pilots. What you put down is updated automatically and you can get a response very fast if you want a battle soon. However, please refrain from rude and obscene languages.
Want to see SWSC's Pilot Lounge?
May the Force be with you.
