The Legend of Zelda: The Jade Triforce
Chapter 4
On the way to Hyrule Castle...
Link, there's something that I haven't told you yet... It's very important that you hear it now.
What is it?
Well, much of the monsters, including Prismix, are from the future. You see, my creator's rival - Jinero - was bent on destroying the universe. He didn't care if he died as well, he just wanted to see everything wiped out. He sent Prismix and the others waiting to see that I didn't retrieve the Jade Triforce. I must teach you something. It is a song that holds great power in bringing joy to people. Use your ocarina and learn the Song of the Rainbow.
Metallic produced a tune within him and Link repeated it.
Now, what will this song do?
It will activate the crystal Prismix left behind by taking us into the color worlds. The crystal also returns us to this world, but you already knew that because you've used it.
That's really neat. I have been learning new-
All of a sudden Zelda's voice cried out to Link telepathicly.
Liiiiiiiiiinkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!!
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllll-
Zelda?! Zelda!! Metallic, we have to get to the castle right now!
Link and Metallic raced to the castle as fast as they could. When they reached it, both stopped dead in their tracks.
What is it?
They both looked up and saw a glimmering blue bubble completely around the castle.
It's a force field. Jinero must have sent a spell through the portal after me.
Most of my weapons are in there- along with Zelda!
The only way do disspell it is to retrieve the rainbow crystals.
Zelda... Jinero's going to pay for this. We're going to find those crystals.
In the future we had an artifact known as the Prism Gauntlets. These gave the wearer remarkable protection. When Jinero started working his evil, they were sealed inside the Castle of Light to prevent him from becoming nearly invincible.
I have some more things back at my house in the Kokiri village. Let's hurry there first.
Link lead the way across Hyrule field to the entrance to the Kokiri village.
You know Metallic, maybe you should let me go in first. The Kokiri are a bit timid about others. I'll introduce you.
Link entered the village where he was greeted by his friends.
Hey guys, I'd like you to meet someone. Don't be frightened by him, he's a friend of mine.
Metallic stepped into the village. There were quite a few 'ooh's and 'aah's.
This is Metallic. We have to get some stuff from my house and then leave again.
Link, we should hurry.
Okay.
Link ran to his hut, grabbed some things from his trunk, then jumped down from the balcony and ran back torward the small crowd.
Let's go Link. Going through the Lost Woods is probably the fastest way to get tot the Castle of Light.
Oh, by the way, someone was looking for you in the woods, Link. They're somewhere around there still, I believe. Good-bye.
Thanks. Good-bye all of you!
Metallic lead the way into the Lost Woods. After walking for a few hours, the two heard a giant THUD. It came again- THUD!
What's that sound?
I don't know.
Metallic turned around and jumped out of the way of a gargantuan monkey following them.
Hey! Who are you?
Kikikiiii! I am Kiki the monkey. Do you not remember me?
Um... Yeah! From Koholint Island!
That's right. I came back to Hyrule. There is something urgent I need to tell you. I was swinging through the forest here, and all of a sudden a statue appeared out thin air!
Well, we're awfully close to Illusion Meadow.
Illusion Meadow? I've never heard of it.
That's because it's outside Hyrule's borders. That is also the reason you need the Prism Gauntlets. There are many dangerous enemies outside the boarder.
Well, I must go now. See you again. Kikiii kiiii!
Kiki then grabbed a vine and swang away.
The entrance to Illusion Meadow is quite well hidden in the forest somewhere. If things aren't as they seem, then it is very close.
I just remembered- I have the Lens of Truth with me. I can probably see the entryway through it.
Link pulled out the Lens of Truth and spied a doorway on a tree outlined in gold.
Here Metallic, take a look at this.
Metallic took the Lens and saw the same things Link had.
The gold you see is the threshold of Hyrule. Once we pass through it, we will be outside Hyrule's borders.
With that said, both walked through the doorway to see a beautiful meadow in front them.
Wow, it's very lovely.
Don't be fooled. This place is very tricky. Some things are real, most aren't.
They started walking a ways when, at the sound of gallopping, Link turned around just in time to see a white knight heading stright in their direction!
Jump!
Immediately Metallic leaped one way and Link the other. Just as soon as the knight appeared, he disappeared, still gallopping down the path.
We have to be cautious. There are many illusions here.
You're right. Let's keep going.
Hey Link, what are all the weapons you have with you?
I have...my hookshot, my bow, a full quiver of arrows including the magic ones, my magic medallions, the lens of truth, my sword and shield, my knowlegde of magic, and you.
Link turned around to find that Metallic was gone.
Metallic? Where are you?
As he turned back around, he was grabbed and thrown down. When he looked up, his arch nemisis, Gannondorf, was there. Immediately Link grabbed a light arrow, shut his eyes, and pulled the arrow back. Just then, Metallic shimmered back to normal where Ganon had been. He raised his hands in front of him in surprise as Link murmered-
He's gonna get it...
