The Races and Cultures of Middle-Earth

Middle-Earth is home to races and cultures that are found nowhere else in the galaxy. The Macro-Departments below are designed for use when creating the denizens of this world. Not all will make good SGC player characters, tho some [like the Dwarves] will be right at home working alongside an SG team.

Dwarves [Shared Talents]
Once a proud and powerful race, with the increase in Orc and Goblin numbers the Dwarves have been fighting a battle they are slowly loosing. As such they spend more time locked up in their mountain realms, away from the affairs of Elves and Men.

  • Base speed is 20ft.
  • Armour Group Proficiency [Light, Medium, Heavy]

Engineers
Dwarven Engineers work tirelessly to maintain their family holds, a task given great importance as one improperly braced beam could cost many Dwarven lives.

  • +2 Int
  • +1 to any one Craft skill and Mechanics. +1 per 4 levels

The Silvan elves live in the forests of Middle-Earth and are keen hunters - able to spot prey from a much greater distance than any Man.

Elven Smiths
Elves have the finest arms and armour of any of the races of Middle-Earth. This is due to the great skill and craftmanship of the Elven Smiths who are trained from a young age in these skills.

  • +2 Str
  • +1 to any two Craft skills. +1 per 4 levels
  • Bonus Feat: Great Fortitude.

Hobbits
Hobbits, or Shire-folk as Men know them, are a quiet rural race. Not ever getting involved with the affairs of the big folk, and certainly never having any adventures!

The Legal Bit: Lord of the Rings, Hobbits and all other associated trademarks are copyright to the Tolkein Estate [and associated parties]. This web site is not an attempt to make money out of these trademarks, they are being used for non-profit reasons [and so I can run games of sG-1 in a cool setting]. I love the works of J.R.R. Tolkein [and the movies by Peter Jackson] and would never attempt to exploit them for my own profit, other sort of gain or even to get a girlfriend - tho if something I have written here does, in the minds of those who hold these copyrights and trademarks, breach any rules please do let me know and I shall endeavour to remove the offending material as soon as possible. Man, who reads these things anyways. In a perfect world lawyers would trust us to be honest and would not expect us to do dodgy things, but then how would they make their money. Right, now that I've got the lawyers against me :P I'll stop this nigh on endless rant in favour of actually going and writing up the rest of the site so there is actually something for this Legal Bit to cover.
