WARRIOR STORY

CHAPTER 8
The Crypt

Whenever Stormie was forced to endure the Dark ones presence, she was always aware of the power that surrounded his entire being. An aura of evil, pure evil. As dark as the elemental force of evil that gave life to the whole of creation. The power that surrounded the man sitting in front of her was awesome. A force that could very well rival the serpent him self. And yet she could tell that this evil was relatively new to this life. It lacked the wisdom of time. It was still untested and unchecked in its power. She knew the touch of that power. Felt it caress her body, her mind and even her soul. It wanted her for some dark purpose that she didn't yet fully understand. Her only hope is that her friends would come to her rescue before this grand plan comes to light. Stormie felt the presence of another being of evil. She could feel it draw closer to were she was. This being was powerful, much like the Dark one himself. Except that the power was old, very old. This force that was fast approaching was ancient. She could feel the wisdom and timelessness that this being held. Her only question was. Was it going to be a friend or foe? A slowly rising tendril of smoke, appeared on the far side of the bubble of air. Slowly it circled into the air, thickening into a growing form of a huge creature. Stormie could not take her eyes off the site of that growing form. She watched as it slowly gained in mass, solidifying into a massive form. Its back elongated into the shape of a scorpion. The creatures many feet seemed to spread out from itself, in an effort to keep itself erect. Its torso rising a good seven feet off the ground. Four arms sprouting from its body. Two massive lower arms extended out from its body to end in large pincers. The upper arms, equally massive, were similar in design to those of her own. Massive shoulders slowly formed from the smoke. Think with muscles that she was sure could tear her in half. Lastly, the creature’s head formed slowly. The head of a man came to great her. This head was utterly bald. No horns, no hair, nothing at all. But it was the creature's eyes that were so captivating. Twin hollow sockets stared back at her. It was obvious that they could see. But she wondered if they could see through her as well. Slowly the transport from one plane of existence to another was complete. It had seen clearly enough that the Dark one had allowed its pet to get the better of him. Could it make use of this situation? Should it? Yes it decided it would make use of this situation, but only after the Serpent had been destroyed.

Devlyn looks down at Hydras hands on the edge of her sword, there were shreds of flesh and sinew hanging from the wrist. And she could see the bones, bright white against the blood and flesh. Devlyn holds back a shiver and an outburst and turns to walk away to take Hydras hands to Magi. Devlyn cant stop staring at the hands, how gruesome they look, slowly she opens her pouch at her waist and takes hold of the finger on one of the hands, sliding the ring off of the finger she watches it fall into the pouch. She does this to all the rings on both hands until she reaches the last one, on the pinky finger. She wraps her fingers around the bloody finger and pulls at the ring but it doesn’t budge. Pull as she might, she can not get the ring to move. Devlyn slides both hands off her sword and reaches for her small dagger. Bending over the hands, she carves off the pinky and puts it and the ring on it in her pouch. "AUGHHH" she says as Devlyn steps over the hands and finds her way to Magi giving him the rings.

The smoke was thick in the keep's hall as Princess Arainna ran to the ancient secret treasure room. The sounds of swords on metal slowly stilling. Reaching the hidden passage the Princess glances back at sound of the last doors blasting in. Her fathers and mothers shouts as they attacked the Dark One ring loud through the keep's hall. Closing the hidden door Arainna eyes blurred as the shouts turned too screams. The stairs led down to a small room where an ancient device waited. The orb glowed softly on its stand its radiance lighting the beautiful elf princess' face. Touching the orb's surface as she hears the shattering of the hidden doors Arainna concentrates on her destination the keep of her family’s main enemies the Warriors of Hades. Turning as the orbs glow expands around her the little princess feels the present of the Dark One behind her, his hunger and lust making her feel dirty inside, his anger great as she vanishes from sight. Even though the orb of teleporation takes her too the far away keep for the princess time slows and she remembers the last tense meeting she had with her parents........... 'the Lord and Lady of Shennade looked at their youngest child and daughter.. "we cant hold Arainna" the weakness clear in her fathers voice, "the Dark Ones forces are too strong and his desire for you too great." As her father moves to the doors to the room her mother says, "but there is a small hope daughter if you so choose once your father and I had a dear friend one we both held close but then he embraced the ancient Serpent God and the darkness and he and your father became enemies." "No mother you cant mean the Warriors of Hades...those have always been our foes my brothers have killed several as they warred on us." "Yes my daughter the general of their forces one called Vikar was once long ago a dear friend he and your father were the ones that saved me long ago." Turning again her father speaks "Arainna, Vikar was/is a strong warrior and I have heard whispers that his warriors still fight the Dark One he may be many things but he does still owe me. Perhaps Ara the only way to defeat this evil is for you too embrace his dark god and to help defeat him. You seem to be very important to the Dark One." Her eyes big as she thinks " If you are telling me this father then you hold no hope here and you and mother wont flee. My brothers lie broken outside, my family's soldiers all but gone I know father that I am of a high race but I will join these Warriors of Hades of the dark and master what they teach and I will become an Angel of Death I will become "Harbinger" to destroy this dark one and his evil." The princess suddenly hugs her mother then her father as the sounds of the last battle erupt in the Hall out side "through there and to the treasure room daughter" her father shouts as he turns sword in hand Arainna's eyes and her mother's lock for a moment as she is handed a pouch " Give this to Vikar when you find him it well tell him much we hope and give him this he will know what it is for." The last a bottle of the first great wine her father produced. "HURRY RUN daughter and never forget us" ............ The glow of the orb fades and Arainna finds herself in a courtyard the Flies once again circling above her as she feels the power of the Dark One here too.

As Devlyn worked her way to Magi, the rings in the pouch seemed to be calling to her. Without much thought, Devlyn opened the bag in peered in. The light seemed to pick out one ring and shine directly on it, casting a brilliant light back into Dev's face. Devlyn reached in and pulled out the ring. It was the tiniest one of them, with strange cryptic writings on it. She flipped it over in her hand and tried to decipher the strange message. "It won’t hurt if I try this one on.. It’s the smallest of them. How great could its power be?" Slowly Dev, put the ring on her middle finger, pushing it over her knuckle. She turned her hand around looking at it shining in the light. Devlyn could feel her hand starting to tingle. She tried to pull the ring off, but it would not come over her knuckle. "Damn, if Magi finds out I tried one of these rings on, I’m gonna be scrubbing the Keeps floors for a month" Pulling as hard as she could, she couldn’t get the ring off. Suddenly, a feeling came over her, as if she was not quite control of her body any longer. As if in a trance, she began her walk toward Magi, with only one thought on her mind...

Blaze stares in amazement as his pet reappears along side of him, (reminds himself to thank Phantom for pulling his dog out of the way). Looking out at the fury of fly like humanoids circling the keep, Blaze tries to use some of the other toys that Nanuk grabbed from Quin's storage room. Pulling back on his bow of accuracy he loads an arrow that has a green bulb just beyond the arrowhead...Lets it fly towards one of the flying bugs... The arrow starts to glow once released making quite a trail of fire heading directly at the beast, and before Blaze could grab another the arrow exploded into a huge fireball, taking out the bug and the 4 around it, dropping them to the ground in lumps of burning flesh. Woooooo Baby. (Looks around to see if Quin is going to show up and retrieve these new toys from him also).
Blaze's Pet Nanuk watches the arrows fly from many of the warriors on the wall and decides he should make himself worthy of his master and walks the lines asking who needed arrows or other such equipment.

Phantom wakes after his nap and awakens the two warriors with him. "Rogue, ready the stallions, make sure that they are set. Angela, I want you to stay here...follow if need be, but for now I want you to watch the keep."
Angela frowns at her order , as any WOH would, having to watch her own guildmates fight and not being able to do a thing. "Do not worry, I have faith that Quinnor will be summoning you soon with further orders, soon, you will be fighting for the cause again."
"Phantom," Rogue says as he trots by, "Lets go!" With that, Phantom mounts his steed and the two speedily ride off on their quest into the realms.
