From
Independent World Television's The Real News, 2007:
|
We gained so much working with you up
there — it's really changed the way we're talking to people
out here.
|
Zack Exley |
| |
It was very helpful. I am very pleased with the session.
|
Urban Hamid |

The interviewing training was totally priceless, as was delving into your book. The script training was challenging almost to the point of painful at times for me but I think that also will prove very valuable.
|
Sam Husseini |
| |
I have learned how to be a better journalist. How to strive for excellence and not settle for the comfort of mediocrity.
|
Natalie Kalata |
| |
I found our session extremely helpful. It's great when someone has had enough experience to cut to the Zen centre of an activity and can bring it into the light, as you did. Your guidance gave me confidence in presenting and a desire to learn more.
|
Wayne MacPhail |
| |
I learned a tremendous amount I'm sure due to Tim's method of teaching. As opposed to just an academic perspective, Tim was able to show us first hand his methods and have us learn through doing. He obviously has a world of experience and it was wonderful to be able to share in that.
|
Patrice Mousseau |
| |
I can't imagine anyone better at it than you and TRN would be foolish to let you go or use you less often. You are one of the industry’s class acts and TRN is lucky to have you.
|
David Nayman |
| |
As an on camera journalist with several years of experience I found your training to be a breath of fresh air. The methods you used to bring understanding to the text enabled me to bring a fresh and new approach to my work.
|
Zaa Nkweta |
| |
His book provided a broad introduction to the foundations of journalism while his training delved into the minutia. The training also provided the most vital kind of information: it taught me just how much I don't know.
|
Matthew Palevsky |
| |
The various tips from the training sessions will be very useful. And actually enacting interview scenarios definitely helps a 'learn-by-doing' person like me.
|
Fahad Pinto |
| |
It was incredibly helpful. Tim was great — he was straightforward and his approach provided us with all of the skills to feel comfortable in front of (and behind) the camera. I really can't think of any "constructive criticism" because he worked with us so closely, answering all of our questions, tailoring the session to us, allowing us to focus on the areas where we needed the most work. So it really was an amazing experience, and we had fun through it all.

| They sent me to this guy called Tim. Calls himself a
trainer. This trainer told me to look through, not at, the camera.
Told me to stop and think about what I'm reading. This had a strange,
calming effect on me. Now, somehow, I make sense. Even when the script
doesn't. This guy Tim, he's no trainer. He's a fucking genius. |

| Mr. Knight's years of experience as a television journalist,

international vision. |

| To the dozens of journalists you have left a void. They
feel the course was too short. You had so many other things to teach
them. Your kindness, laced with your bluntness, your vast knowledge
of the media, your experience of the world, fascinated them ... |
|
B.

President, Mauritius Union of Journalists
|

|
| The programme for the training of broadcast journalists
which (he) has developed can only be described as outstanding. Not
only has Tim set standards for television teaching curricula in this
country, he is without any doubt one of the most skilled hands-on
trainers I have encountered in my twenty-some-odd years in the industry.
Tim has the uncommon talent of actually motivating learning. It is
a talent that has made him one of the most successful, sought-after
staff development professionals in our industry. |

| The anchor workshop was a fantastic experience. It is
a must for anyone who delivers the news ... my only regret is that
I did not have this opportunity before I went on the air ... I could
have been so much better. Now, fortunately, I can be. The sessions
were exhausting and exhilarating. I have never learned so much about
what I do in such a short period of time. Actually, I have never learned
so much ... period. |

improve on the work we love."
"A great manner - a thoroughness, a sincerity and an integrity with
regard to the purpose of our work."
