And of course, there are numerous specific content sites such as news, articles, journals, etc. (which you probably are more familiar than I am) that you can download or save from the browser by just doing FILE | SAVE AS, then convert it into REB1200 format.

Loading onto the REB1200 and further help:

via CompactFlash:
Loading contents into the REB1200 is very easy via the CompactFlash and is the only method I use. To do so, you need a CompactFlash reader or one of those all-in-1 card readers, which usually plugs into your USB port in your PC and only costs around $20 or less.
  1. Close the cover and eject the CompactFlash
  2. Insert your CompactFlash into the reader in the PC, either Windows Explorer will automatically popup showing you what is in the CompactFlash, or you'll need to open Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer), and locate the drive for the CompactFlash.
  3. Copy the .RES file/folder into "softbks" folder of the CompactFlash drive
  4. Insert the CompactFlash (back side up) in the REB1200
via Ethernet Port:
See my Software Conversion page on info for GEBLibrarian and REBLibrarian.

via modem line:
I've never tried this either, and I think the only site you can dial into is Gemstar which is closing down in July'03. But with the above list of content sites, I don't think there are any contents that Gemstar provides that you won't find. Plus, Gemstar's prices are usually not as competitive as others as well.

Well, that's all I know about the REB1200. If you missed my PhotoAlbum for REB1200 creater info, be sure to check it out. It turns your REB 1200 into a digital Photo Album with hyperlinked index prints! It converts jpegs (.jpg) directly into .RES folder or .imp with super fast execution.
If you have any further questions or problems, you should post them on the yahoo REB1200 group. People there are very friendly and are much more knowledgable than I am.
