Welcome to MacauNet Homepage !

  • 06/02/2001 Added a real-time headline news clip panel on the right. It's a new (free) service from Yahoo!Geocities. Isn't it wonderful?
  • 05/31/2001 Haven't done anything to the web page for a lonnnnnng time... just fixed the broken link of the guestbook --due to Yahoo!Geocities merger and rearranged its CGI script. It's now more easily to use. But I feel the speed is not as fast...
  • 10/26/1998 Just found a very nice page on the Handover of Macau at the China News Services web site. Check it out! (Note: it's in Chinese.)
  • 10/25/1998 Just put up more photos of Macau. The photos are provided by one of our members, Jeanie Ho. Thanks Jeanie! Click here to see the new photos.
  • 10/21/1998 For those who are interested, here's a piece of news on the US "Green Card" lottery (the following is a message from Luis Basto, thanks Luis!)
    ========================
    Hello,

    I just found out that the DV-2000 visa lottery program may be the last time Macau residents can gamble for an immigrant visa. If you're interested, the deadline to mail your entry in is Oct. 31. Rules are similar to previous years. See details in http://travel.state.gov/dv-2000.html.

    It stated that for Macau residents, if selected, the visas must be issued by Dec 20, 1999. Interestingly, no such cutoff date is shown for Hong Kong. Remember, for Macau, you send it to the address under Europe.

    May the luck of the draw be with you,
    Luis

  • 5/13/1998 More letters...some months ago some members wrote an open letter to some Portuguese newspapers in Macau to address their concerns about the "gang" problems and other safty issues in Macau. I just got hold of the letters (thanks to Luis)and put them on the "About Us" page. The letter was written in both English and Portuguese.
  • 5/11/1998 One of our members, Weng-Sun Ho, has initiated a "concern" letter writing campaign to write to some Chinese/Macau authorities to express concerns about the recent increase in (triad related) crime rate in Macau. Take a look at his letter(s): http://www.vif.com/users/wsho/macau.html (in Chinese) or http://www.vif.com/users/wsho/english.html (in English) He's also organizing a concern group, see details on his homepage: http://www.vif.com/users/wsho/english/mco/
