~ A Little About Myself ~

...The Sailor Story of Richard Lok

Chapter 1: A Moon Fan is Born

Let's see, where should I start? Well I'm 17 years old and I currently attend George S. Henry Academy in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. (Click on the link to see the homepage for my school). I was first introduced to Sailor Moon in the summer of 1994 while visiting Vancouver. A japanese exchange student living in at a friends house gave me a music book to a few of the songs from the japanese Sailor Moon R series because she found out that I played the piano. This was the first time I had ever heard of such a cartoon but it wasn't going to be the last.......

The following year, when it started airing in North America, I caught a glimpse of it while my sister was watching and said to myself "Hey, I've seen those people before, they're on that music book I got!" Months had passed and I still had not seen a full episode of Sailor Moon...but hey, why should I? it's for little girls!

Then one January day I saw the light..............

Chapter 2: A Crystal Clear Destiny

I was in my parents bedroom trying to split my attention between TV and studying for exams when Sailor Moon popped up on the tube (the one at 12:00pm on YTV). By the time I finished watching the whole episode (it was Ski Bunny Blues) I knew I was hooked. Throughout the rest of exams I made it routine to sit through at least one episode a day of Sailor Moon (sometimes I watched the same one three times in one day). And so my love for Sailor Moon grew and grew and here I am today, a person forever changed. But you may ask, "Ok, but where does Sailor Saturn fit in?"...

Chapter 3: Hotaru Tomoe Madness

After about six months of watching reruns and building up a video library of all the good Sailor Moon episodes, I was starting to get bored - VERY bored. YTV kept on showing the same episodes over and over and over and over....well. you get my drift. One night I decided to call up a friend that I hadn't talked to in a few months and see what was going on with him. As we talked the conversation managed to find its way towards Sailor Moon. I kept telling him what a big fan I was and, to my surprise, found out that he too watched the show. I was even more thrilled by the fact that he had bought some Sailor Moon S series tapes from Chinatown that I never knew existed in Toronto. Whoopeee!!! I was lucky enough to get the chance to borrow them for a few days and watched them at least two to three times each. It was in these episodes that I first saw Hotaru Tomoe. You see up until this point I had been a loyal fan of Sailor Jupiter, but things were different now. I lost almost all interest in Jupiter the minute I saw those pretty eyes and cute lips. The next time I went on the Net I searched for all the Saturn pics I could find. But lo and behold I could hardly find anything. There were less than ten sites which provided me with ANY significant info on my beloved Hotaru out of the hundreds and hundreds of Sailor Moon web pages. "Why don't they say amything about Saturn" I kept asking myself, "Don't they like her? How can you not?". It became apparent that people either simply didn't like her or she was unknown to most . I assumed the latter and decided to make an effort to make Sailor Saturn's name known amongst al fellow Moonies. So after much trouble and time I have pieced this page together in hope of spreading the the belated word of Saturn's arrival.

Well I guess that pretty much sums up my Sailor life. Since my intro to Sailor Moon I have expanded my collection to include...
