There exist powerful spirits known as shinma. On occasion these spirits pass into the human world and attach themselves to souls who have grown weak or corrupt. But the realm of the shinma has a sentinel, vampire Miyu. Her job is to guard the first layer of the shinma realm and to hunt the wandering shinma who walk the human world and banish them back into the dark. At her side is her loyal servant, a western shinma named Larva.
