There are altogether 4 levels of Super Saiyajins. WIth images, you would be guided to the type of Super Saiyajin levels available in Dragonball.

Super Saiyajin Stage 1 The first stage of a Super Saiyajin. Gokou first discovered it after he raged with anger after Krillyn was killed by Freeza. After a Saiya changes into a Super Saiyajin, he'll be covered in aura and his hair will change into a golden like colour. His strength will also increase tremendously. Can be activated due to anger in one Saiya's self. So far, all Super Saiyajins in Dragonball can succesfully morph into Super Saiyajin stage 1 mode.

Super Saiyajin Stage 2 The second stage for a Super Saiyajin. Gohan succesfully morphed into a Super Saiyajin after having a tough battle with Cell. In the second stage, a Super Saiyajin will be covered with lightning. He'll also look more serious than usual. The strength of a Super Saiyajin on the second stage will increase more tremendously if compared to SUper Saiyajin stage 1. So far, only Gohan, Gogeta and Gojita can reach this stage.

Super Saiyajin Stage 3 Gokou successfully discovered the ability of the 3rd stage of becoming Super Saiyajin 3 after hard training at Kaio's place. During this stage, a Super Saiyajin's hair will grow longer. His power level will also reach a tremendous level. This is one of the highest levels of a Super Saiyajin before the 4th stage, of course. Only Gokou and Gotenks can morph into Super Saiyajin stage 3. However, Super Saiyajin stage 3 has a time limit of 30 minutes only(Thanks to Kaiao).

Super Saiyajin Stage 4 The final and the strongest stage of any Super Saiyajin. To morph into Super Saiyajin stage 4, a Saiya must morph into a Gorilla first. As a result, the tail is very important in the process of morphing into Super Saiyajin stage 4. Gokou first morphed into Super Saiyajin stage 4 after he regain conciousness while he is a Gorilla. At Super Saiyajin stage 4, a Saiya will be covered with red hair. However, his hair will still remain black, not gold if compared to other Super Saiyajin stages. Only Gokou, Vegeta and Gojita can morph into Super Saiyajin stage 4.
