Chapter 4 : The Real Mother
(At the hospital)
Both Sendoh and Sakuragi were waiting impatiently outside the
'Intensive Care' unit. The doctor and nurses had been rushing in
and out the Emergency room umpteen times, each time they couldn't
escape the fate of being pulled aside by Sakuragi to ask about
her condition.
Finally, the nurses pushed Shoko out of the Emergency Room.
Both the boys followed the nurses closely behind them , to the Intensive Care Ward where Shoko was to be kept under supervision. Both of them were not allow to enter and they were only allowed to watch her outside the glass window. Dark clouds cast over Sakuragi's heart, upon seeing those, red, blue, yellow and green wires poking through Shoko's body.
Then the nurse came out and asked," Who is Shoko's family member here?"
" I am! " Sakuragi replied simultaneously. He gave Sendoh a hard stare before leaving with the nurse for registration.
Sendoh looked solemnly at Shoko. In his mind, the question about his real mother kept popping up.
